David Bouley was born and reared in the Connecticut town of Storrs. David's childhood spent on his grandparents' farm had a profound influence on him. Inspired by their French ancestors, he acquired a passion for preparing nutritious meals from scratch using well selected, freshly prepared components. David began working in restaurants at a young age, and has since lived on Cape Cod, in Sante Fe, and in France and Switzerland, among other places. His experience working with some of Europe's most recognized chefs, such as Roger Vergé, Paul Bocuse, Joel Robuchon, Gaston Lenôtre and Frédy Giradet, followed his studies at the Sorbonne University. After gaining valuable expertise, David went on to work in some of New York's most prestigious restaurants at the time, including Le Cirque, Le Périgord, and La Côte Basque, among others. He also worked as a sous chef in a San Francisco restaurant owned by Roger Vergé for a short period of time. David went on to become the chef of the Montrachet restaurant in TriBeCa when it first opened its doors in 1985. She opened a retail flower shop 3 years ago and found that every single person that entered her store was stunned by the 25 foot tall ceilings, the massive chandelier and the general beauty of the space. Walk in customers would step right over a black rope that was put up for boundaries and look around the space in awe! This building, once an old door factory with two floors, was gutted by the architectural genius and landlord. These walls, this corner, this neighborhood married with the floral expertise of Rebecca and her team have led her to open this very special, unique and intimate space. Frankies Spuntino has earned a reputation for seamlessly hosting all manner of events — from weddings and intimate family celebrations to private barbecues and pop-ups. Frankies 457’s private event space is a converted blacksmith’s stable located in the garden behind their restaurant at 457 Court Street in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. The rustic brick building, constructed in the early 1900’s, can accommodate up to 40 people for a family-style dinner or up to 50 guests for a buffet event with scattered seating. For events of 41 to 70 guests, our Stable Garden space may be added to the Stable for expanded seating. The Stable Garden is located directly outside the Stable. For an indoor/outdoor event, the Stable doors slide completely open allowing free-flow between the spaces. During the cooler months the Stable Garden is winterized enabling you to celebrate at Frankies year round. The Frankies Garden may be added to the Stable and Stable Garden to accommodate seated events of up to 80 guests. This unique and romantic space is ideal for wedding celebrations and includes a private entry via our Patio. Ceremonies and receptions can be held in the gardens or the Stable, offering a variety of layouts and possibilities. For parties up to 100 guests, the Frankies Garden is an idyllic setting for buffet dinners or cocktail receptions with scattered seating. Located 3 doors down from Frankies 457 Spuntino, The North Dining Room in Frankies Pantry and Bottle Shop is a unique location for your intimate gathering of up to 20 guests for a seated event.
