641 Tchoupitoulas St, New Orleans, LA 70130, USA

St. James Cheese Company is the perfect setting for private wine and cheese tastings, happy hours, rehearsal dinners, baby and bridal showers, weddings, and more. Cheese, cheese, charcuterie, and more cheese, please. Sandwiches, salads, and even more cheese are all on the menu. Mission The purpose of our business is to present our clients with a precisely picked and unexpectedly broad range of wonderfully mature cheeses, charcuterie, and gourmet food products. Our menu has been carefully crafted to include sandwiches, salads, and cheese-centric dishes that are both contemporary and European in style, in order to appeal to a wide range of food enthusiasts. What it Is and How it Works We know people who know people who know people who know people who know people. The best method to obtain the farmhouse cheeses we are wild about is to identify the people who love creating them as much as we do about selling them. We found this out a long time ago and have been using it ever since. We've established an international network of cheese makers and affineurs who supply us with the artisan and farmhouse cheeses that are not available in other shops in the United States. What to Expect When You Arrive We operate on the premise that cheese should be enjoyable, and we strive to make each and every visit to our shop unique and memorable. There are areas for the cheese novice, the rind smelling expert, and the curd curious to explore. These are the folks who work for us. St James cheesemongers and guests are urged to sample every cheese available on a daily basis in order to guarantee that each cheese is served at its best.

The cost of all weekend events is a three-night minimum buyout of the entire property (approximately $6,500), plus an additional fee based on the number of guests and type of event, which can range between $500 and $7,500 depending on the event. During your stay, you will have exclusive use of the main house and grounds, and the fee will cover standard cleaning, taxes, and service fees - as well as vendor load in and load out, as well as use of our Bose professional-grade sound system. Equipment rental, catering, chairs and tables (beyond what is already on the premises for resident guests), and other similar expenses are not included. As a result, we require that all guests hosting events on our property purchase event liability insurance as well as contract with a security vendor who has been approved by us (see below for more details). Please review our policies before making a reservation. In the center of a triple lot, the house has a corner yard (under an oak tree) to one side and a private, fenced yard to the other. The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The two yards are linked together by a central hallway that runs through the center of the house and connects them. Some groups choose to hold part of the event (such as the ceremony) in one yard and the other part of the event (such as the reception) in another yard, but depending on the size of your group, you may be able to hold both the reception and the ceremony in the same location. There is a large gate in the non-cottage yard that can be opened to provide easy access for a food truck.

Centered on the eastern wall of the building are three clocks, which have been in place since the building was erected, giving the times in New Orleans, New York & Rio de Janeiro, which were the major players in the Green Coffee Trading. The eight-sectioned mural done was hand-painted by local artist Alvin Sharpe in 1932. It took him approximately three months to complete. First, the canvas was glued to the dome, and then he painted them while on a scaffold in the prone position -- the local version of Michelangelo. (The cost for this project was only $5,500.00 -- just imagine what it would cost today!) In 1993, the Board of Trade was once again renovated, the floors leveled and carpeted with a movable dance floor. It is now available for special event rental, so the public has the opportunity to experience the grandeur of days gone by. The space can currently accomodate up to 500 guests reception style and 250 seated.

Micaela Almonester, the Baroness de Pontalba, was born in New Orleans in 1795 to aristocratic families of French-Creole and Spanish descent. She inherited her father's fortune when she was a little child, as he was the only living heir. Her father, Andrés Almonester y Rojas, had been a prominent donor to the city of New Orleans through his humanitarian efforts. She was arranged to marry Joseph-Xavier Célestin Delfau de Pontalba, and the couple finally settled in Paris, where she lived for the majority of her life after their marriage. Her husband and father-in-law re-established power over her and her estate by coercive means. Her father-in-law, driven by an insatiable desire for Micaela's money, attempted to murder her several years after the initial attempt. While she survived with injuries to her hand and breast, she also attempted to legally separate herself from her husband, despite the fact that they were never actually divorced. Her father's legacy as a key contribution to New Orleans as a businesswoman, developer, and well-known personality was carried on by the Baroness. Her father's legacy as a key contribution to New Orleans as a businesswoman, developer, and well-known personality was carried on by the Baroness. She made significant contributions to the revitalization of the French quarter, most notably through the creation of the historic Pontalba Buildings. She was in charge of the architectural design of the structures, as well as the construction of them, which she oversaw closely. Construction of this ancient brick building began in 1835 and served as the Baroness' warehouse, where she kept her furniture and other belongings safe and secure.

Cypress Grove Wedding Venue is a special place for us, and we're thrilled to share it with you! My name is Ted, and the name of my wife's is Joy. We are young empty nesters who have returned to our hometown and purchased this property in 2016 after having lived away for many years. We have two children and two grandchildren. We live on the property next to the venue and enjoy being on site because it allows us to meet so many beautiful couples as they go through the process of arranging their special wedding weekend. We have a dog and a cat, and we enjoy spending time with them. We have two daughters who are both married and have recently welcomed three adorable boys into the family, making us the proud grandparents of three little boys! Last but not least, don't forget about our newest member of the Cypress Grove family, our adorable Labradoodle Jolie! The venue is a historic general store that was built in 1886 and relocated to its current location in the 1990s. As a general shop, it was well-known for being one of the last locations that Bonnie and Clyde attempted to rob in 1934, when it was still in operation. The store has been transformed into a celebration venue, complete with a lovely verdant open field and a slab for the wedding ceremony. Moreover, in the event that it rains, this historic wedding venue has a one-of-a-kind backup plan. As you step through the old french doors, you are greeted by a spacious covered porch with cypress benches that run the length of the porch. This room is great, and it also serves as a wonderful covered reception area for any event. The atmosphere you will experience here is a classic rustic ambience in a historical setting, yet it has been upgraded with modern amenities like as a large central air system and wi-fi throughout the property. The interior is decorated in a light palette with white vintage shiplap, wood ceilings and floors, antique wooden carbels, original 1800's counters that are perfect for serving meals, and much more! All of these factors combine to make Cypress Grove a top-rated wedding venue and a popular choice among brides.

We look forward to working with you to create an experience that is one-of-a-kind. Communicate with our staff to let us know what kind of event you have in mind. We'll take care of everything else. Take over the entire fifth floor for parties of up to 300 people or more. Take, for example, a ceremony on the Founders' Terrace followed by cocktails in the Beverage Lab and a seated dinner in McIlhenny Hall, or a full-day conference in McIlhenny Hall followed by an indoor-outdoor cocktail reception in the Beverage Lab, as an example. There is no limit to what can be achieved. An unique feature of this contemporary facility is exposed beams and original windows. It also includes a full-service open kitchen and bar with seating for up to 70 people. Natural light floods into the bistro-inspired dining space, which also has a view of the streetcar line via the windows. This huge, open space is placed against the backdrop of our open-air courtyard, allowing the outstanding architectural aspects of NOCHI's interior to be fully appreciated. It can accommodate up to 150 people in its 2,300 square feet of area, which makes it an ideal gathering or pre-function venue. This interior courtyard, which is located in the literal core of our building, is surrounded by four storeys of glass windows, which provide natural light to practically the whole structure. It can accommodate up to 55 people and is furnished with outdoor seats and festoon lighting, making it a unique and intimate atmosphere.
