    Rock Lake Ranch is a working ranch owned and operated by the Geffert family, which has been in the family for several generations. They are sixth generation Texans who take tremendous pleasure in their ancestors and the history of their home state. This gorgeous property, which was named after Rock Lake Creek, was formerly a camping area for Native Americans who were lured to the spring-fed creek that cut through the exposed sandstone cliffs. The Gefferts' great-grandparents came in the Piedmont area in the mid-1850s, when they were born. During the 1920s, their grandparents, Annie Lee and Johnny Churchwell, were still operating a self-sufficient farmhouse on the acreage they inherited. The Writer's Cottage, a shotgun-style residence built in the early 1900s in Houston's Fourth Ward, was formerly a popular hangout for writers. When it was transported to the ranch in 2005, it had been authentically restored by volunteers and professionals from Historic Houston. The Old Gibbons Creek bridge, a steel-truss bridge built in the early twentieth century and affectionately known as the "Shanghai Bridge" by locals, originally stood a few miles away. It had been abandoned since the 1980s, but it was relocated and rebuilt in 2009, and it now serves as a picturesque gateway to the Waterfront Pavilion and other outdoor spaces at Rock Lake Ranch. There are still remnants of their grandparents' first home on Rock Lake Ranch, including the Allen House and wooden barn area, as well as the old well house and cistern where their grandparents' original farmhouse previously stood.     Gruene Estate sits on 17 acres in the historic town of Gruene, Texas, between San Antonio and Austin, on land the Gruene family first settled in 1846. Ernst and Antoinette Gruene built a home and barn on the property, and their sons went on to found the Thornhill Steam Mills that grew into the town of Gruene itself. Now owned by Dr. Daniel and Anna Lisa Tamez, the estate has been restored to its original 10-acre core and continues its family history of hosting the community. At the heart of the property is the original open-air chapel, an intimate space with a stained-glass window backdrop, bench seating, and a sound system with lapel microphone. Nearby, the Modern Farmhouse Covered Pavilion pairs handmade farm tables and chairs with chandeliers and string lighting, a bar and cocktail area, a concert stage with outlets for a DJ or band, and a fire pit overlooking the grounds. Together the spaces seat up to 225 guests, suiting everything from an intimate chapel ceremony to a large reception.     French Country Meadow is an event venue located in Wichita Falls, Texas, that serves the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Darrin and Kim French, husband and wife, run French Country Meadow, which is a family-owned business. French Country Meadow, founded on Christian values and based in faith, is a site where "country and class merge," making it the ideal location to celebrate the wedding of your dreams in the heart of northern Texas. Our venue is a 6000 square foot custom-built barn that harkens back to the days of the large red barns. Our goal is to create the ideal environment.... one in which "Country and Class Collide." A reception-style event can hold 200-250 people, depending on the layout and other factors. A bridal suite is located upstairs, as well as a catering kitchen that has an ice machine, warming cabinet, professional refrigerator, and microwave. A built-in bar, buffet room, and men's and women's restrooms are also available. For year-round use and comfort, the facility is temperature conditioned. The southeast side of the barn has gravel parking (3/4 acre). Our 1946 Farm Truck is a terrific addition to the property and provides excellent photo opportunities! We offer an outside ceremony location with a pergola for the ceremony and a grain bin silo where food or beverages can be served.
