Alexander family and is an unusually well-proportioned design of English influenced architecture with a neo-classical influence that is still standing today. The Dallas Woman's Forum purchased the building in 1930, and it was refurbished and redecorated in 1967. The front columns, which are made of Vermont granite and are two storeys tall, are a focal point. The gateway roof is supported by the columns, and the entablature that surrounds the roof is basic in design. The porch is reached through a set of wide stairs, with built-in benches flanking either side. The massive double doors with patterned beveled glass are a thing of breathtaking beauty. The chapel's architecture incorporates many design elements from American Colonial churches, such as the prominent stone columns, spire, brass chandeliers, Palladian windows, and classically built chancel, which have remained unchanged since the refurbishment. Robert Carr Chapel hosts over 100 weddings and 400 events each year, attracting an average of 15,000 visitors.
