The property was built with reclaimed French materials — limestone walls salvaged from historic châteaus in Aix-en-Provence, Normandy, and the Loire Valley, and wood beams reclaimed from a 19th-century lavender factory in Avignon — creating an authentic European atmosphere set against the rolling vineyards and olive groves of Santa Barbara Wine Country. West Oakland, California's 16th Street Station is a historic landmark that dates back to the late nineteenth century. At this time, we are not renting the interior space of the building, and we are only renting the area immediately surrounding the building. As a backdrop, the site boasts a magnificent Main Hall that is truly breath-taking. The 16th Street Station will no longer be taking any rental commitments for events that will take place within the Station. Rental of outside areas is still available. Please inquire. The 16th Street Station, which opened on August 1, 1912, marked the beginning of West Oakland as the city's gateway. The Station, which was constructed for $300,000 by the Southern Pacific Railway and designed by Chicago architect Jarvis Hunt, was built by the railroad for $300,000. That same year, the Station was featured in Western Architect magazine. The Station served as the western terminus of the transcontinental railway system, and was the last stop on the Western line. Even as recently as the 1950s, Southern Pacific was one of Oakland's most significant private sector employers. By the 1960s, the railroad company had realized that their primary source of revenue was freight transportation rather than passenger travel. However, in the early years, the usage was quite different from what it is today.

Dunsmuir Hellman Historic Estate occupies 50 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in a crescent-shaped valley near the southeastern edge of Oakland, California. At its heart stands a 37-room Neoclassical Revival mansion built in 1899, surrounded by sprawling lawns, duck-filled ponds, and gardens whose design was informed by John McLaren, the landscape architect best known for shaping San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The estate is owned and operated by the City of Oakland's Parks, Recreation & Youth Development department and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Four distinct outdoor and indoor event spaces accommodate gatherings ranging from intimate ceremonies of 50 guests on the Mansion Veranda to receptions and corporate events of up to 200 guests in the Garden Pavilion. The estate is available for weddings, receptions, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, corporate retreats, seminars, and family reunions. Old Venice has been family owned and run for 42 years and is the ideal spot to spend time with those you care about. Please use the form on our website to request information about your upcoming event. Two weeks ahead to your event, we require a final menu. The catering menu can be found on the website. Following the completion of the menu, a contract will be written and delivered to you via email for perusal. The contract must be signed and returned at least one week before the event. At least two weeks before the event, the final guest count must be determined. The restaurant will be prepared to serve up to 5% (5%) of the total guest count, or ten (10) dishes (whichever is fewer). OUR COVERED PATIO HAS ROOM FOR 25-35 PEOPLE. We rent our large Ivy and tree-lined venue to support that purpose by hosting a variety of outstanding events. Our entire location is 6000 square feet and contains a cafe, full commercial kitchen, conference room for additional preparation space, and a big outside patio with gentle hanging lights, ideal for larger seated meals and parties. This rental is for the entire downstairs space, as well as our upstairs office, which can be used as a staging/dressing room. Seated - 175 guests, Standing - 400 guests.
