888 BANQUET & EVENT SPACE: China Live is an interactive culinary and cultural destination located at the entrance to San Francisco's Chinatown, offering a comprehensive look into Greater Chinese cuisine. Our goal is to demystify Chinese ingredients and cuisine while also educating guests about the country's rich history and cultural heritage. China Live can accommodate small gatherings of 10 individuals to large reception-style events with up to 825 people and many sensory experiences. MARKET RESTAURANT: Our first-floor restaurant offers a seasonal menu that changes daily and is prepared at eight specialized stations that combine traditional Chinese and Western culinary technology. A major dining space serves as the focal point, with handcrafted seats and tables made from reclaimed Chinese elm in China. These exhibition kitchens, which have plenty of bar seating, allow you to get a closer look at the skilled chefs at work. The wok station combines European and Chinese flair, with a state-of-the-art Hestan range on one side and an extensive custom-designed wok line by Joe Yick, a third-generation family business in San Francisco, on the other. The charcuterie station features a deep wood-fired oven, similar to a pizza oven in concept, but serving classic roast duck and chicken instead. DESIGN: A Chinese clay oven, similar to an Indian tandoor, is a three-foot tall receptacle resembling an enormous vase that sustains low heat over charcoal fire for an extended period of time, suitable for low and slow roasting pork. Dumplings, in particular, scream Chinese cuisine. This station, which serves as the restaurant's focal point, is equipped with enormous cast iron pans for cooking pot stickers and a variety of steamed and pan-fried dumplings. Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse is a one-of-a-kind destination retreat rental set at 2,200 feet elevation in the low mountains above Santa Ynez Valley, California — 15 minutes from the Los Olivos wine region and one hour from Santa Barbara. The property comprises three historic structures relocated from the East Coast: an 18th-century New Hampshire barn/farmhouse, a West Virginia timber home, and a Tennessee Appalachian cabin, each disassembled, shipped cross-country, and reassembled using original construction techniques. The main house spans 3,600 square feet; a 600-square-foot guest house sits on the same grounds. The farmhouse accommodates boutique gatherings, rustic weddings, anniversary celebrations, family reunions, and milestone birthdays. The Gladys L. Lemmons Senior Community Center is a City of Oakdale facility located at 450 E A Street in Oakdale, California. The center serves seniors 55 and older, offering free or low-cost programs including leisure activities, educational opportunities, fitness classes, art instruction, nutritional lunch, and social events. Available for weekend rentals, the center accommodates up to 150 guests for dining events and up to 200 for assembly-style gatherings. Rentals are reserved for senior events and activities — such as celebration of life ceremonies and senior birthday parties — and are coordinated through the City of Oakdale Recreation Office at (209) 845-3571. The center publishes a monthly newsletter and operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for its regular senior programming.
