The Kersey House, located in historic downtown Summerville, SC, is a beautifully renovated wedding and event venue that dates back to circa 1912. It is owned and operated by Nico Romo, one of only 66 French master chefs in the country and the only one residing in South Carolina. As you enter the venue, you will be welcomed by two spacious southern verandas, along with a tribute to the Kersey family. The four grand parlor rooms feature original heart pine floors, stunning fireplaces, and small tributes to each family member. The venue also boasts an expansive ballroom and a large courtyard adorned with azaleas and hydrangeas, creating an intimate urban oasis. Custom tenting options are available for versatile use of the outdoor spaces, regardless of the weather.

You can go to Joe Riley Waterfront Park, St. Philip's Church, and the City Market, to name a few, before getting to the site. The Anchor Room is a prominent event venue with stunning waterfront views, a diverse food, and elegant décor. With two cocktail balconies overlooking the Wando River, the second floor room can accommodate up to 160 guests. Guests can also hold their ceremony outside, in the adjacent waterfront gazebo. The Anchor Room's Australian Cypress floors and cypress trim match the seaside location. The area includes full audio/visual capabilities for displaying visitors' images or films, as well as a variety of music genres available on demand. From a wide-ranging event menu, the Anchor Room chef and his staff can suit your culinary needs. Please contact us if you'd like to plan a tour or an event. The Anchor Room at Wando River Grill is a waterfront venue in North Mt. Pleasant, located at the Wando River Marina. The Anchor Room offers amazing views of the Wando River from its lovely second-floor waterfront setting. The Anchor Room has a Cypress floor and two outside cocktail balconies, totaling 3,000 square feet. This unique event area includes several video displays and audio-visual equipment, as well as fully changeable lighting to suit any mood. We're one of the few reception sites in the Charleston area where the bridal party and guests can come and depart by boat. Cocktail tables, dining tables, and banquet seating are included in our room rental rate. We also have a waterfront gazebo for outdoor ceremonies and a dressing suite for the wedding party!

For groups of 40 to 80 people, the entire restaurant can be reserved for the evening. Depending on the day and time of year, food and beverage minimums range from $14,000 to $25,000. A cocktail party can accommodate groups of 80-100 people, however a seated meal can only accommodate 80 people. Unfortunately, groups of 21-40 people cannot be accommodated. Because the patio is not an all-weather patio, it cannot be hired or reserved, and its availability cannot be guaranteed. Michael Toscano, a co-founder, grew up wanting to be a professional golfer but discovered his passion for cooking while working at a golf club in high school. Michael won a scholarship to attend an American Culinary Federation Apprenticeship held by North Carolina's legendary Pinehurst Resort, rather than pursue a golf career. He relocated to New York City after graduating and worked at Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery before landing a job as a sous chef at Mario Batali's Babbo at the age of 21. Michael was named executive chef at Eataly's Manzo, the Italian food mecca's fine-dining restaurant, after four years at the famed restaurant. He opened Perla, a modern Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village, as the Chef/Owner in 2012, and it has garnered numerous honors, including Esquire's Best New Restaurants in America, New York Times Two Stars, and Time Out New York Best Italian Restaurant. Michael eventually took over the kitchens at Jeffrey's Grocery, a seafood restaurant, and Montmartre, a modern French cafe, both of which are part of Happy Cooking Hospitality. Michael has been named a "New York Rising Star" by StarChefs.com, a Zagat 30 Under 30 semifinalist, and a semifinalist in the James Beard "Rising Star Chef" competition. He is also a member of the Williams Sonoma Chefs' Collective. Michael and his wife Caitlin came to Charleston, South Carolina with their two children Julian and Marley in the summer of 2015 to begin the next chapter of their lives. Caitlin Toscano, Farfalle’s other co-founder, grew up in the Pennsylvania mountains and moved to the sandy beaches of Miami when she was 16 years old. She has been a dedicated member of the hotel sector since graduating from Johnson and Wales University with a culinary arts degree, and she has been driven from the start. It was only the beginning when she finished her externship at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, where she met Michael. She and Michael packed their belongings into a minivan and drove to New York City after cooking their way through the resort. Caitlin immediately established herself as a front-of-house operations specialist. She's worked at some of New York City's most prestigious restaurants, including Tom Colicchio's flagship Craft and Thomas Keller's 3 Michelin-starred Per Se. She went on to work as the opening General Manager of Eataly NYC's fine dining restaurant, Manzo, where she swiftly raised the service standards at Mario Batali's 4 New York Times starred Italian restaurant, Del Posto. She took a brief career break at the moment to focus on parenthood, but she is thrilled to be managing at her own restaurant once more.

On our lovely patio and within the restaurant, Lewis Barbecue offers full service private gatherings. John Lewis, the founder and maestro of BBQ, grew up in El Paso, Texas, and came to Austin at the age of 18 to begin his culinary career. John's parents got him a New Braunfels smoker for his birthday around this time, and he began dabbling in Austin's long-standing backyard BBQ culture. He immediately began to experiment with the design and construction of both his smokers and his meats in order to achieve a better result. After spending time in Denver developing his skills on the competition barbecue circuit, John returned to Austin to assist his buddy Aaron Franklin with the opening of Franklin Barbecue, and then joined with LeAnn Mueller to open the much-loved La Barbecue. John went to the Holy City in March 2015 with his smokers to introduce the Lowcountry to the amazing world of Texas BBQ. Lewis Barbecue, which he and his team established in June 2016, has been acclaimed as one of the greatest in the country by publications such as Southern Living, Conde Nast Traveler, Garden & Gun, and others for its famed brisket, honky tonk music, and laid-back attitude. Rancho Lewis, John's second design, will open in Charleston in 2022.
