Charlie Bird is a fun neighborhood restaurant located in Soho, NYC and offering an Italian-inspired, American-executed menu developed by Chef Ryan Hardy. Theo Lieberman oversees the wine program, a list featuring an exceptional selection of vintages and delicious wines. Charlie Bird is rooted in all things New York - from the brick and mortar walls that date back to 1880, to a kitchen that only sources local ingredients for the menu, to the hip hop-inspired art that covers the walls. The menu reflects Chef and Co-owner Ryan Hardy’s thoughtful interpretation of what he describes as a nod to Italian cuisine, influenced by his passion for making cheese, curing meats, digging for clams, diving for urchin, farming produce and crafting handmade pasta. Co-owner Robert Bohr and Wine Director Grant Reynolds developed the wine list, which offers a small but compelling array of bottles. The 60-seat space is decidedly NY, manifesting an understated modern aesthetic designed to offer amazing food in an ambiance that is both sophisticated and approachable. The Private Dining Room at Charlie Bird can accommodate up to 14 diners, providing New Yorkers renting this venue with something that they rarely get: isolation. Tucked away, the private dining room includes a handcrafted, custom-built walnut table and bespoke chairs made of vintage fabric. Exposed brick walls, clean wood lines and beautiful lighting fixtures compliment the aesthetics of the main dining room. The Jazz Gallery offers a unique space for private events, recordings, rehearsals, business meetings, photo/film shoots, concerts, conferences, seminars, classes, weddings, receptions, celebrations, and functions of all kinds looking to distinguish themselves from the usual offerings. The performance space (1160 Broadway, entrance on Broadway) houses the stage and all performance amenities, a small office, and rest room area. The lounge (1158 Broadway, entrance on 27th street) includes an open lounge area, a large green room/office space, a bar, a refrigerator, and two restrooms (one being ADA-compliant). The Jazz Gallery is located in New York’s historic & bustling NoMad neighborhood; the Flatiron Building and Madison Square Park to our south, and the Empire State Building is a few blocks to the north. Nestled in between these two iconic buildings are old merchant stores, exclusive boutiques, and many restaurants and hotels. The Jazz Gallery is located at 1158 & 1160 Broadway, 5th floor. Located in the recently renovated “Boiler Building”, Smack Mellon’s gallery is an especially exciting space with tremendous architectural elements. The 6,000 square foot gallery boasts a ceiling that soars to 35 feet. There are 25 windows on two levels providing beautiful light and a spectacular view of Manhattan and the East River. Smack Mellon is just one subway stop from Manhattan with easy access to the BQE, Manhattan & Brooklyn Bridges and ample parking in nearby garages. The building is handicap accessible.

Once here, your private party will be transported into the back bar, with a lovely, low-ceiling, mirrored foyer for eight (3 stools), five banquettes to seat up to twenty-two, and nine bar stools. Behind another hidden archway, The Lab at Patent Pending awaits with a large booth for ten, another booth for twelve, a dance floor and five bar seats. Food will be served in the cafe up front, and the entire space both front and back can be yours. For groups of 12 or more, The Lab can be yours either privately or shared.
