The Surrey House is a big historic residence that was constructed around 1910. It has withstood a century of tornadoes, fires, and other natural calamities to become one of the most well-known wedding venues in the North Dallas community. A complete renovation of the facility was carried out in 1998, and a partial renovation was carried out in 2011. Just a few blocks south of the old town center and the magnificently renovated county courthouse, you'll find this stunning residence in McKinney's historic area. Behind the main home is a big deck that overlooks the rear yard and a wedding gazebo that was expressly created for the occasion. Brides and bridesmaids can get ready for their special moments in the bridal cottage, which is located at the southern end of the backyard on the south side. It is possible to host events of up to 150 people in the Surrey House and its surrounding grounds. We are a family-owned and operated Do-It-Yourself Event Venue that provides you with the option of two unique and distinct indoor/outdoor Venues — the Rustic Barn and our Romantic Garden Hall — for your special occasion. A climate-controlled building houses each venue, which also has an outside Gazebo and Dance Floor with a DJ/Bandstand, as well as a bar for guests. Stonebridge Wedding Venue sits on 40 acres along the Nolan River in Blum, Texas, about 45 minutes from Fort Worth and an hour from Dallas or Waco. The historic property takes its name from a stone bridge visible along the riverbank and is built around natural features including ponds, waterfalls, tree-covered paths, and unique rock formations rising above the water. At the heart of the grounds stands the Tree of Life, a live oak believed to be more than 200 years old and ranked among the ten largest of its kind in Texas; its outstretched branches can host up to 300 guests for a ceremony. For receptions, Tuxedo Hall offers 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space with a balcony, large windows, a dance floor, and a kitchen and bar area for caterers, opening onto an outdoor deck through a run of French doors. Couples planning a smaller celebration can book The Boulders, an intimate setting among prehistoric rock formations above the river designed for micro-weddings and elopements. We purchased our Paradise home eight years ago with the intention of retiring there eventually. Our daughter urged us to build a wedding barn when she got engaged. The family spent a year preparing the location for the event, and it was even given the name Wedding Hill. Even in the midst of a torrential downpour, the couple's wedding under the massive oak tree overlooking the pond was breathtaking. We knew we wanted to host a lot more weddings on our property, but we also realized we'd need a building to do it. Every element and decision has been carefully considered, from the oak tree that inspired our emblem to the site of the barn next to the pond. We consider ourselves fortunate to have been given this chance, and we want others to benefit from it as well. We are dedicated to helping and giving back to the community in which we live.
