Make a reservation at The Chapel. Memorial Chapel is open to anybody, regardless of their affiliation with the University, and anyone can book a space there. The Memorial Chapel is an excellent venue for a variety of events such as concerts, seminars, meetings, convocations, graduations, and everything in between. Spaces Available for Rent Memorial Chapel has four rentable spaces available for use: Main Chapel The Main Chapel, which has a white interior with burgundy accents, can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. A total of four sets of pews are available on the ground level, in addition to balcony seats on three sides. The Moller Pipe Organ, as well as a Baldwin grand piano, may be seen in the Main Chapel of the University. You can choose from a variety of altar pieces (in both metal and wood), as well as a lectern, microphones, and a large number of tables and chairs. Garden Chapel With red brick walls and rustic wood beams, this is a charming site. The Garden Chapel is surrounded on all sides by a lovely Garden of Reflection and Remembrance, which can be seen through the enormous arched windows in the chapel. The venue comprises the historic Mansion, a climate-controlled tented terrace (Apr-Nov), and surrounding lawns. The Hemlock Grove is one of the most unique outdoor ceremony areas in the entire DC region. Check out lots of photos and videos on social media at woodendsanctuary. The tented terrace is the backup plan for your ceremony in case of inclement weather and can accommodate all your guests. During the winter months, our historic Mansion is ideal for receptions, holiday parties, corporate events, and so much more. There is no sales tax. BYO alcohol, no corkage. Part of the rental fee for contracts of 8 hours or more is considered a donation to Nature Forward and is tax-deductible. Facilities and Capacity The Woodlands can accommodate up to 200 guests for a formal banquet-style reception, and features both indoor and outdoor spaces. Couples who wish to make the most of the surrounding scenery can wed under a structured wooden pergola with view of the forest. The Loudoun ballroom offers a second stunning space for an indoor reception, with floor-to-ceiling windows that cover an entire wall of the two-story building. Lofty ceilings and a stone wall fireplace complete this elegant and refined space. Services Offered The Woodlands at Algonkian can cater to all event types. We host one event per day, clients will have use of the property for up to eight hours. The on-site venue coordinators ensure the event runs smoothly, and are there to assist with the details and support the couple with anything they may need. Items such as Chiavari reception chairs, folding ceremony chairs, tables, and audio equipment are available, along with necessities like glassware and flatware.
