The Prado is a National Historic Landmark in Balboa Park. After a comprehensive renovation and modernization, The Prado reopened in 2000. The building's architecture, artwork, sculptures, alcoves, gardens, and fountains were all restored during the three-year makeover. The venue's authenticity is enhanced by over two dozen original, hand-painted wooden stencil designs on doors, as well as the elaborate hand stenciled ceilings and beams. The "Women of Tehuantepec" sculpture by Donal Hord is still on display in the renovated central courtyard's fountain. The Prado at Balboa Park has beautiful historical gardens and a courtyard, as well as elegant banquet halls, romantic terraces, and the ancient Casa Del Rey Moro Gardens' outdoor magnificence. Mission Brewery has a dedicated 5,000 sq. ft. private event facility adjacent to our current tasting room. Corporate & semi private events Looking for an option for a semi private event? Rent out our upstairs Loft for your group! The Loft has an optional mobile bar set up that allows you to choose up to four draft beers for your upstairs event, avoiding the need for guests to walk downstairs to the bar while they enjoy the view. The Cellar (downstairs space) and the Loft (upstairs space) can be leased together to provide a larger, perfect private party setting for you and your guests. A sliding barn door separates our main tasting room from this new location.
