Fifteen years ago Stuart Grannen, the founder of the Chicago staple, Architectural Artifacts Inc., purchased an old Charcoal factory in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. He and an internationally acclaimed designer converted this incredible factory space into an AIA award winning home. They kept as much of the original interior finishes to keep the integrity of the building. Stuart began receiving requests for photoshoots and small parties which led him to the conclusion that this space was too special to keep to himself! He has decided to let others share in the joy of this architectural masterpiece. The venue is made up of 2 separate buildings that have been connected to total 28,000 square feet of industrial and loft style event space. The biggest holdup preventing the bar from reopening — it’s been closed since September 2016 — has been fixing the west wall that faces Clark Street.
