As the National Maritime Union's headquarters, the nautically themed structure was originally designed by New Orleans modernist architect Albert Ledner in 1968 to serve as the union's headquarters. In the late 1940s, Ledner worked as an apprentice under the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, where he developed his own playful style. This fanciful approach to modernism was long dismissed by design purists, but The Maritime is now considered to be part of a wave of modernist architecture that is being viewed in a completely different light than it was previously. It had been open since 2003 but had undergone a transformation to better reflect its enviable location in the heart of Manhattan's fashion, art, food and business districts as well as the city's technology and creative industries. It was the first luxury hotel in the neighborhood, distinguished by its signature porthole windows, white-tiled exterior, and elevated outdoor terraces overlooking Ninth Avenue. Customized lunch and dinner prix fixe menus are prepared in collaboration with you to provide your guests with a variety of options. Our Spaces THE NORTH GARDEN is the restaurant's focal point: a covered patio that is enclosed for cold weather and serves as a lovely year-round location for small wedding ceremonies or cocktail celebrations, as well as beverages before seated dinners in the neighboring private rooms. The NORTH GARDEN can be leased in conjunction with the POOL ROOM to give additional capacity for couple's dances, cocktails, and other events. Frankies Spuntino has earned a reputation for seamlessly hosting all manner of events — from weddings and intimate family celebrations to private barbecues and pop-ups. Frankies 457’s private event space is a converted blacksmith’s stable located in the garden behind their restaurant at 457 Court Street in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. The rustic brick building, constructed in the early 1900’s, can accommodate up to 40 people for a family-style dinner or up to 50 guests for a buffet event with scattered seating. For events of 41 to 70 guests, our Stable Garden space may be added to the Stable for expanded seating. The Stable Garden is located directly outside the Stable. For an indoor/outdoor event, the Stable doors slide completely open allowing free-flow between the spaces. During the cooler months the Stable Garden is winterized enabling you to celebrate at Frankies year round. The Frankies Garden may be added to the Stable and Stable Garden to accommodate seated events of up to 80 guests. This unique and romantic space is ideal for wedding celebrations and includes a private entry via our Patio. Ceremonies and receptions can be held in the gardens or the Stable, offering a variety of layouts and possibilities. For parties up to 100 guests, the Frankies Garden is an idyllic setting for buffet dinners or cocktail receptions with scattered seating. The Bell House is a two-room music and events venue located in Brooklyn, New York. The main room has a 25-foot-high wooden, vaulted ceiling, and a 450-square-foot stage which makes The Bell House ideal for various performances, large gatherings, weddings, and celebrations. THE HISTORY OF THE BELL HOUSE The Bell House, a state-of-the-art 8,000 square foot facility with a separate performance space and lounge, is centrally located between Park Slope and Carroll Gardens. Constructed in the 1920s from an old printing factory and boasting an 88 foot long and 25 foot high magnificent wooden barrel vault ceiling, The Bell House has quickly established itself as a major center for arts and entertainment in Brownstone Brooklyn. THE MAIN EXHIBITION ROOM The Main Room at The Bell House boasts 25 foot wooden arched ceilings, a 450 square foot stage, and unobstructed views of the stage from any part of the room, making it an ideal space for performances, large gatherings, weddings, and celebrations of all kinds. This space can easily accommodate 500 people standing or 200+ people seated at a time. In addition, guests can take in the scenery from the elevated platform of the beautiful 30′ wooden bar that runs along the West wall. This space can be used in conjunction with the Front Lounge for parties and events with a capacity of up to 600 people. THE LOUNGE AT THE FRONT The Front Lounge of The Bell House, which is located directly in front of the building, retains its warm and intimate character while comfortably accommodating up to 150 people. This space boasts a stunning 26-foot oak bar that serves handcrafted and local beers, as well as a comprehensive wine and liquor selection. The Vander Ende-Onderdonk House (circa 1709) is the city's oldest Dutch fieldstone house and is the oldest of its kind in the United States. A community museum and the headquarters of the Greater Ridgewood Historical Society are housed within the New York City Landmark. Additionally, Arbitration Rock can be found on the property. The Grand Rapids Historical Society hosts a variety of public events throughout the year. In addition, the property is available for private rentals on a limited basis. Through exhibits, events, and programming that engage with our community through history, the Greater Ridgewood Historical Society seeks to preserve the past and enrich the future of the greater Ridgewood area and beyond. The Mariner III is a 122-foot classic motor yacht built in 1926, available for private charter in New York City from late spring through mid-fall and in Palm Beach, Florida during the winter months. Docked at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers during the New York season, the vessel offers panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and the Brooklyn Bridge from its open-air decks and salon. The yacht retains its original Gatsby-era character — varnished teak, gleaming brass fittings, and hand-crafted beveled lead crystal windows — while supporting a range of private events, from wedding ceremonies and rehearsal dinners to corporate gatherings, birthday celebrations, and photo shoots. Guests can dine on the Upper Bridge Deck, gather in the covered aft deck, or move through the salon and bar areas. The Lotos Club's elegant rooms can host a variety of corporate and social events, including an intimate dinner party for eight, a joyous wedding celebration for one hundred guests, and cocktails for 160. Seasonal menus suited to your preferences and event are available from our acclaimed cuisine. Our staff is available to assist you with every aspect, including menus, flowers, and music, so you can rest and enjoy your special day. The elite Grill Room features an Old World/New World ambiance, with classic state dinner menus honoring people who have achieved excellence throughout history at The Lotos Club. The Grill Room can seat up to 75 people for a sit-down dinner and up to 90 people for standing celebrations. The Grill Room can accommodate up to 25 people at one table for an intimate wine meal. Wedding ceremonies, talks, and receptions for up to 75 people are held in the Tennyson Room. It can also accommodate dinner parties of up to 40 people.
