THE NATIONS' HISTORY: The Nations was once the point where Native American tribes would meet to communicate with each other. Today, the neighborhood has been redeveloped into an eclectic spot for local breweries, restaurants and retail, with 51st ave being the epicenter. The building that is now 14TENN was built in 1925 as part of the original Belle Meade Hosiery Mill. The Union Station Nashville Yards occupies a former L&N Railroad terminal at 1001 Broadway, built in 1900 in a heavy-stone Richardsonian-Romanesque style complete with a clock tower and a statue of Mercy, the Roman deity of merchants and travelers. The terminal closed in 1979, and since 1986 the building has operated as a luxury boutique hotel and special event destination, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated a Historic Hotel of America. The centerpiece is the Grand Lobby, topped by a 65-foot barrel-vaulted ceiling with gold-leaf medallions and original luminous prism stained glass, and named one of the "Best Hotel Lobbies in the World" by Condé Nast Traveler. Scarritt Bennett Center is a nonprofit conference, retreat, and education center set on a 10-acre historic campus in Nashville. The campus began more than 100 years ago as the School for Christian Workers and today welcomes weddings, receptions, and private events alongside its ongoing mission-based programming. At the heart of the campus is Wightman Chapel, built in classic Gothic cathedral style in 1928 and designed with acoustics that resonate throughout the space. The Rev. The Loveless Events Barn was built with versatility in mind, including a private kitchen where our culinary team could prepare meals for events hosted on-site. As demand grew, Loveless Events Catering was introduced to bring a wide variety of menu items to homes, offices, and other venues in the area. Seeing a need for a smaller private event space, the original Loveless Motel Dining Room was converted to the Harpeth Room. Guests have been hosting baby showers, business meetings, and even small weddings in this venue ever since. Now, Loveless Events encompasses on-site events and catering in the Barn and the Harpeth Room providing a sophisticated southern experience.
