128 South is located in the historic VonKampen Building (circa 1862) and features one of the last great examples of a Victorian façade including the original stained glass windows. Over the years, the building has housed a variety of businesses including a restaurants, bar, art gallery, travel agency, deli, and grocery store. During the late 1800s the W. H. S. Fuchs Dry Goods was housed in the building and offered the largest grocery store in three counties. Some features include exposed heart-of-pine beams, hardwood floors throughout, and enormous bay windows with views of South Front Street.

NESTLED ON 12 ACRES IN THE QUAINT TOWN OF NEW HILL, THE BRADFORD WAS INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED TO EMBRACE THE COUNTRYSIDE OF EUROPE WHILE EMBODYING THE SERENITY OF HOME. IT IS A PLACE WHERE EFFORTLESS ELEGANCE MEETS APPROACHABLE LUXURY. AN EVENT AT THE BRADFORD IS NOT JUST A DAY OR A SINGLE MOMENT. IT IS A UNIQUELY TAILORED EXPERIENCE. The Bradford began on a paper napkin during lunch at Bear Rock Cafe while planning Dana's wedding. I know it sounds like every other venue start up...but that's really how it happened! Our original sketch looked something like a warehouse - nothing like our plans today. We decided then that if we were going to open a venue we should really learn more about the event planning process from a planner's perspective not just a bride's. Thus C and D began! After 6 years of planning events, we decided that we were ready to pursue our first dream of opening a venue. We searched high and low for the perfect piece of property (one that had enough space and perk was rather difficult to find). We eventually stumbled upon this little gem in New Hill and started the process of seeing if it would fit our needs. It took us 6 months to purchase, and go through the right avenues with county, 1 year to get financing, and in 2013 we started building! Our first event was August of 2014 and as they say, the rest is history! A lot of people ask if this was a historic home, or a family home - and the answer is no! We just built it to look old and historic. We put every thing we owned into this property and took a massive leap of faith- and we are so grateful we did! We love hosting events and love seeing our clients get married here and have the most perfect day. In 2015, O.A. “Buddy” Keller broke ground on Oakland’s Barn venue to create the perfect space for his oldest granddaughter's wedding. On October 10, 2015, Oakland welcomed its first guests through the barn doors for a perfect fall evening they’d remember forever. Hold an extremely exceptional event—the options are unlimited. So many chances to host a spectacular event! Boxwood Lodge was highlighted for its statewide significance in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, and social history when it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. The 51 acre estate was divided into 9 smaller portions in 2001 so they could be sold one at a time at auction. The present owners bought Boxwood Lodge and its 51 acres at the auction in order to preserve the land and maintain all tracts and buildings under a single ownership. They wanted to bring back the splendor of Boxwood Estate and preserve both its heritage and its hidden gem for future generations. Since 2002, the manor, cabin, carriage house, and grounds have all undergone extensive renovations that adhere to "standards for rehabilitation and is consistent with the historic character of the property or district in which it is located." The National Park Service of the United States Department of Interior has designated Boxwood, a building that is officially recognized as being historic, as a "certified rehabilitation."
