Horizon View Farms is a 465-acre working farm and bed and breakfast in the Laurel Highlands of Rockwood, Pennsylvania, offering countryside weddings, family reunions, and getaways against a backdrop of horses, rolling fields, and a historic red barn. The property accommodates celebrations that range from intimate gatherings to receptions of up to 500 guests, with couples choosing between two outdoor ceremony sites — the Magical Forest or under the Willow Tree — before moving indoors to the Red Barn for the reception. Beyond the ceremony and reception spaces, the farm offers an enclosed deck for rehearsal dinners and casual gatherings, a bonfire ring with wood provided, and horse-drawn carriage rides. A guest house on the property sleeps up to 14 overnight guests across five bedrooms, giving wedding parties a place to stay through the weekend. South Hills Country Club has been a fixture of the Pittsburgh area since 1920, when a group of local businessmen founded the club on 78 acres at the intersection of Route 51 and Brownsville Road. The 18-hole championship golf course dates to that same year and has been continuously refined since, including a 2020 renovation by architect Ron Forse. Today the club offers event space for gatherings ranging from a business meeting for ten to a full wedding reception for two hundred. The clubhouse's Main Floor underwent extensive renovation in 2012, giving the entrance a more inviting, modern feel while preserving its character. The Ballroom was updated with modern technology while retaining its tasteful elegance, the Lounge was transformed into a warm, intimate space centered on a stone fireplace, and the Dining Room's rich colors and draperies lend a refined style to the space. The lower-level Tavern on the Tee, renovated in 2009, opens onto a landscaped patio used for casual dining. Beyond its event and dining spaces, South Hills Country Club features a resort-style swimming complex with a heated pool, added in 1956 and fully renovated in 2004, along with tennis and other member amenities. Club menus draw on classic Italian recipes, steaks, chops, and fresh seafood, with dining available in the Tavern, Sam Parks Grille, and outdoors on the porch and patio in season.
