Nestled beside a running stream, this family owned and operated 1831 colonial mansion is located only 60 minutes from New York City in the scenic Pochuck Valley, the heart of the Skylands. Our exquisite three-level home features wrap around porches and awe-inspiring views of the countryside. Fox & Bear Lodge is comprised of 8 lush guest rooms, painstakingly restored to preserve the original character of the house, while at the same time delivering modern upgrades designed for our guests' comfort. We've infused it all with a sense of intimacy and warm personality, honoring the buildings' solid bones and graceful architecture with timeless design. ​All rooms at Fox & Bear Lodge have their own private en-suite bathrooms. All stays include a continental breakfast with most of the items you find being made in-house or coming from no more than 50 miles away. Whether you enjoy it leisurely in one of our many common areas, or on the trail before a hike (grab 'n go bags available), you will start your day off ready for whatever should come your way. We LOVE well-behaved dogs (under 35lbs, 2 max), so feel welcome to bring them along for your getaway! If your dog is a bit on the larger side, we will review those requests on a case to case basis. We do charge an additional fee of $100/stay to help cover the costs of cleaning. We also ask that pups joining the trip are quiet and comfortable while unaccompanied in your room while you are out, so as not to disturb other guests. Union Square is the location of the Manhattan Penthouse. Palladian windows, which are found throughout the loft-like space and provide panoramic views of New York City, are installed throughout the building. The venue can accommodate up to 180 guests, making it an excellent choice for corporate functions, weddings, and other social events of all kinds. When Monika Nemeth finished college in Budapest with a major in Hotel and Catering Management, she went to work for Compexpo, where she organized conventions. Her next position was at the Hungarian Pavilion at the 1992 World Exposition in Sevilla, Spain. Monika arrived in the United States in 1994 and began working as the Catering Director at The Downtown Athletic Club in New York City. Her pleasant demeanor, professionalism, and graciousness serve to reinforce the positive attributes of our company. Brian Pancir received classical training at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. He worked as an apprentice in Michelin-starred restaurants throughout Europe before becoming Sous Chef at Jean-Georges for four years in New York City. Mr. Brian has worked as a private chef for a number of celebrities, has advised Trader Joe's and Golden Corral, has served as Culinary Director of Manhattan Star Academy, and has been voted Best Chef by Dan's Paper magazine. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys traveling the world in search of fishing opportunities.

Leland made a great success of his Portland restaurant Chin's Kitchen, building strong community through food, culture and storytelling. Leland Eating and Drinking House continues the family tradition of convivial hospitality providing a gathering place where neighbors can relax, unwind and be well-fed. Leland's New York Mediterranean cuisine is local and natural featuring in-house curing along with the preservation of local food and beverage. We pickle veggies, dry-age meats, and bake bread right in our kitchen. We buy fresh and make exactly what we need, with as little waste as possible. Our food aims to highlight the quality of organic, local ingredients while providing dishes that make you feel like home.
