Built in 1902, The Majestic Hotel holds the distinction of being San Francisco's oldest and longest-operating hotel. Situated in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, the boutique property reflects early 20th-century craftsmanship through its original Edwardian architecture, French and English antique furnishings, and high-ceilinged rooms filled with natural light. For private events, The Majestic offers a 1,200-square-foot dining room that accommodates up to 90 guests for social mixers or up to 40 for classroom-style gatherings. The space comes equipped with a full-service kitchen, full liquor license, beverage packages, portable dance floor, and limited A/V equipment. Past events in the space have ranged from baby showers and engagement parties to fundraisers and corporate dinners. The Vault Garden is an entirely outdoor restaurant with seating for one hundred people that has just been opened by the Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group on the expansive plaza of the 555 California skyscraper. Fortino Winery Event Center sits on 30 acres in Gilroy, California, along the scenic Hecker Pass Highway — a working winery established in 1970, surrounded by Merlot and Chardonnay vineyards, towering redwoods, and manicured hillside grounds. Two dedicated event spaces accommodate celebrations from intimate gatherings to weddings of up to 300 guests. The outdoor Redwood Terrace features a ceremony area, reception lawn, covered stage and dance floor, full bar, and private entry through the vineyard. The Barrel Room is an indoor banquet hall — recently renovated with air conditioning and heat — with an attached outdoor covered space and vineyard views, suited for up to 120 guests. In-house catering draws on Italian culinary traditions, with menus offered buffet-style, family-style, or as plated dinners; the kitchen team also accommodates specialty menus. The Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco (CCC) is a nonprofit arts and cultural organization founded in 1965, occupying 20,000 square feet on the third floor of the Hilton Hotel at the junction of the Financial District and historic Chinatown. Established during the Civil Rights Movement to combat racism and displacement in Chinatown, CCC opened its Kearny Street site in 1973 as a landmark concession to the growing movement in Chinatown around community land use. The center offers three primary event spaces across its main location at 750 Kearny Street: a 299-seat auditorium, a 2,935-square-foot gallery, and the Him Mark Lai Learning Center — making it well suited for large performances and screenings, art-forward receptions, educational programs, and community gatherings. A smaller space at 41 Ross Alley in Chinatown accommodates intimate pop-ups and private events. CCC's programming spans contemporary art exhibitions, thought leader seminars, and festivals including the Chinatown Music Festival and Hungry Ghost Festival. The San Francisco Italian Athletic Club (SFIAC), which was founded in 1917, is the beating heart of San Francisco's Italian population. Piperade, which was opened in downtown San Francisco in 2002 by Chef Gerald Hirigoyen and his wife Cameron, is responsible for bringing these traditional flavors to the area. The proprietors of the establishment call the cuisine served there "West Coast Basque Cuisine," and they say it bridges the gap between French, Spanish, and Basque culinary traditions by emphasizing the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients in each of those cuisines. 888 BANQUET & EVENT SPACE: China Live is an interactive culinary and cultural destination located at the entrance to San Francisco's Chinatown, offering a comprehensive look into Greater Chinese cuisine. Our goal is to demystify Chinese ingredients and cuisine while also educating guests about the country's rich history and cultural heritage. China Live can accommodate small gatherings of 10 individuals to large reception-style events with up to 825 people and many sensory experiences. MARKET RESTAURANT: Our first-floor restaurant offers a seasonal menu that changes daily and is prepared at eight specialized stations that combine traditional Chinese and Western culinary technology. A major dining space serves as the focal point, with handcrafted seats and tables made from reclaimed Chinese elm in China. These exhibition kitchens, which have plenty of bar seating, allow you to get a closer look at the skilled chefs at work. The wok station combines European and Chinese flair, with a state-of-the-art Hestan range on one side and an extensive custom-designed wok line by Joe Yick, a third-generation family business in San Francisco, on the other. The charcuterie station features a deep wood-fired oven, similar to a pizza oven in concept, but serving classic roast duck and chicken instead. DESIGN: A Chinese clay oven, similar to an Indian tandoor, is a three-foot tall receptacle resembling an enormous vase that sustains low heat over charcoal fire for an extended period of time, suitable for low and slow roasting pork. Nisei is Chef David Yoshimura's first restaurant after holding the position of Chef de Cuisine at the Michelin-starred Californios restaurant in San Francisco. The restaurant is located in the Russian Hill district of San Francisco. The restaurant Nisei is a celebration of the Japanese-American ancestry of its owner, Chef David Yoshimura. The tasting menu is inspired by the cuisine of California, which is known as Washoku. Washoku, which literally translates to "harmony of food," is the Japanese equivalent of "home cooking." The art of Washoku centers on a set of guiding principles that emphasize harmony in color, sense of smell and taste, and respect for the ingredients used in food preparation.
