Round Pond Estate
875 Rutherford Rd, Rutherford, CA 94573, USALocated in the heart of the Napa Valley, for more than a century the Rutherford region has been recognized for producing red wines of incomparable opulence and elegance. Although measuring a mere six square miles, this coveted winegrowing area is home to some of the oldest and most storied wineries in the United States. Within this community, Round Pond Estate is neighbored by such acclaimed wineries as Beaulieu Vineyards, Caymus, Cakebread, Honig and Frog’s Leap. Offering a unique mix of microclimate and soil composition, Rutherford has proven ideal for the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as premium Italian and Spanish olives. Offering abundant sunshine, warm daytime temperatures and only moderate cooling influences, Rutherford yields fruit with ripe, robust character. Adding to this character is Rutherford’s unique alluvial soils deposited over millennia by the Napa and Russian rivers as well as the Conn Creek. These vibrant and diverse soils add to the region’s rich palette of flavors. Situated at the main Rutherford crossroads, between Beaulieu Vineyards and Caymus Winery, Round Pond has been growing premium wine grapes since the early 1980s. Cultivated with meticulous care, their grapes have been sold to several of the most preeminent wineries in the region. Recognizing the estate’s ecological diversity, they also undertook the planting of several varieties of imported Italian and Spanish olive trees for the production of premium oils. Because they are passionate about offering the finest gourmet items from the gifts nature has given them, they constructed a state-of-the art-mill to ensure absolute quality in the production of the artisan oils. In addition, using a small selection of extraordinary grapes from their vineyard’s 362 planted acres, Round Pond has established an acclaimed estate wine program focusing on world-class Cabernet Sauvignon produced in extremely limited quantities. Made in conjunction with our super-premium estate wines, they also produce prized red wine vinegars using the revered Orleans Method. For nearly a quarter-century they have had the pleasure and the privilege of being stewards of Round Pond Estate. While chemicals and shortcuts can make for quick fixes, the truth is, consistent, quality wine growing is about seasons, cycles and a long-term commitment to the land. To promote natural balance and vineyard health they have dedicated themselves to the principles of sustainable wine growing.

Cakebread Cellars
St Helena Hwy, Rutherford, CA, USAFrom small-bite wine and food pairing sessions with their resident chefs to seated wine dinners and in-depth cellar tours, visit Cakebread Cellars for a unique Napa winery experience. Private events are available for groups of 10 to 50 guests. Quality and sustainability have been Cakebread cornerstones since their first vintage in 1973. They are a family winery, and we want to protect the land for future generations. At Cakebread Cellars, they embrace environmental responsibility with green practices that range from sustainable and organic farming and diligent water/energy conservation to extensive recycling operations (nearly 90% of winery-generated waste). They are proud to have been an early industry leader in these efforts. In fact, they were only the second California winery to achieve Napa Green certification; they are also certified as Fish Friendly and participate in the Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing program. Sustainable vineyard practices include: monitoring for soil moisture and vine stress to determine irrigation needs; automatic irrigation and mulching to reduce evaporation during irrigation; soil and nutrient management to maintain vineyard health, including composting, reducing herbicide use, avoiding synthetic fertilizers, properly managing pH, and applying microbials to improve vine balance. Our integrated pest management program encourages falcons for bird control and canopy management for disease control; as well as block by block monitoring to catch any issues before they have the chance to progress. We’re also committed to farming with as little impact as possible on the ecosystem. This includes documenting wildlife populations, limiting tree removal, establishing wildlife corridors, reducing run-off, protecting stream channels and planting native grasses. Elevate your next event with their culinary program. Since 1973, it has been inspired by the seasonal bounty of their estate fruit and vegetable garden. Their resident chefs continue that tradition by pairing farm-to-table fare with their acclaimed wines for vintner dinners, private events and cooking classes at their Napa winery. Each recipe in their extensive collection is inspired by fresh ingredients from the Cakebread Culinary Garden at their Napa Valley winery, and created by their resident winery chefs Brian Streeter and Thomas Sixsmith to complement their wines.

St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery
8440 St Helena Hwy, St Helena, CA 94574, USAAs an Estate Winery, St. Supéry has the highest level of control over both the grape growing and winemaking processes, allowing them to manage their wine from berry to bottle. The estate vineyards, Rutherford Estate and Dollarhide Estate, provide every drop that goes into St. Supéry wines. To be labeled “estate,” a wine must be produced entirely from grapes owned by the winery and made and bottled on the winery property. This high level of control, from grape to glass, ensures the world-class wine quality for which they are known for. St. Supéry’s Rutherford Estate Vineyard surrounds the winery in the celebrated Rutherford wine growing region along Highway 29. Thirty-five acres are planted with red Bordeaux varieties: cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot and cabernet franc. With three soil types and an elevation of 154 feet, Rutherford Estate Vineyard enjoys a Mediterranean climate of warm days, cool nights and a long, dry growing season. These conditions are ideal for the red Bordeaux varieties, which are used for the estate's red blend, Élu, as well as St. Supéry’s Rutherford Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc — three of their exceptional single vineyard bottlings. Located in the northeastern hills of Napa Valley, the Dollarhide Estate Ranch is a valley within a valley and has 1,530-plus acres, 500 planted to the vineyard. The oldest vines at Dollarhide Estate, now more than 30 years old, produce the full-bodied, robust cabernet sauvignon and distinctive sauvignon blanc wines upon which St. Supéry’s reputation was built. Vineyard elevations ranging from 600 to 1,100 feet above sea level, seven different soil series, 13 soil variations and unique microclimates, combine at Dollarhide to create an especially accommodating growing environment for Bordeaux grape varieties. During CEO, Emma Swain’s and Vice President of Winemaking and Vineyards, Michael Scholz’s tenure with St. Supéry, the winery has undergone a transformation in quality with extensive investments in the vineyard, winery and technology. The quality of the wines has never been better, which is reflected through highly acclaimed accolades including Robert Parker, Jr.’s comments praising the winery for “dramatically raising the quality level of their offerings.” St. Supéry Estate’s wines are 100% estate from grape to bottle. They have complete control over how our grapes are grown and how our wine is made from crush through bottling. We strive to keep our land pristine and our wines at the highest quality and are proud to have both our land and winery certified Napa Green. Environmental stewardship is incredibly important at St. Supéry, and they strive each day to “walk the walk” in the vineyards, in the cellar and even in the business offices.

Castello Di Amorosa
4045 St Helena Hwy, Calistoga, CA 94515, USACastello di Amorosa is the realization of an all-consuming passion. Fourth generation winemaker Dario Sattui built an authentically styled 13th century Tuscan castle winery to honor his Italian heritage and deep love for medieval architecture. But it all started with wine. Dario is the great grandson of pioneering vintner Vittorio Sattui, an Italian immigrant who founded St. Helena Wine Cellars in 1885. The Sattui family lived at the winery, even after Prohibition closed the business in 1920. Dario was always fascinated by the stories and photos of the old winery. As a child, he would play in the winery's underground cellars and dream of reviving the family business. Dario's interest in medieval architecture grew into an obsession as he traveled around Europe after college. He didn't know it then, but the hours he spent sketching medieval castles, monasteries, palaces, farmhouses, and wineries would one day inspire the blueprints for a visionary undertaking. Dario returned to the U.S. in 1972, with plans to re-open the family winery that had been dormant for more than 50 years. In 1975, he launched V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena. With his great grandfather’s legacy firmly in hand, Dario spent the next two decades searching for a dream property in the Napa Valley. In 1993, he finally found the ideal parcel — 171 acres near Calistoga where Colonel William Nash had planted one of California's first vineyards in 1846. Dario bought the property, which had acres of beautiful forest and hills, a stream and a lake, and a great Victorian home where he decided to settle. "My ideas began to crystallize," he would later write. "I wanted to specialize in making small lots of primarily Italian-style wines and showcase them in an authentic, medieval castle setting where they would be sold directly to the public, not in stores or restaurants." Dario began the construction of Castello di Amorosa winery in 1994. Dario first intended to build an 8,500 square foot building without cellars. But gradually the project morphed into a 13th-century Tuscan castle spanning 121,000 square feet (three acres) with 107 rooms, four underground levels, and four above-ground levels. In Dario's own words, he was "determined to make the Castello authentic in every respect, I used only old, hand-made materials and I built it employing the same methods and materials that would have been used 700-800 years ago. You can’t fake something like this. You either do it right or people will know it’s not authentic." It took more than 8,000 tons of hand-chiseled local stone and nearly one million antique bricks imported from Europe to complete the castle. More than 200 containers of old materials and furnishings were shipped over from Europe to decorate the interior. The construction took 15 years and opened to the public on April 7, 2007. Today, Castello di Amorosa is considered an architectural masterpiece with all the elements of an authentic medieval castle: a moat, drawbridge, five towers, high defensive ramparts, courtyards and loggias, a chapel, stables, an armory, and even a torture chamber. 107 rooms in total, no rooms alike. Containing some of the most beautiful vaulted wine cellars in the world, Castello di Amorosa has fulfilled Dario’s dream of producing superior quality wines with the same love and attention to detail that went into building his castle.

Opus One
7900 St Helena Hwy, Napa, CA 94558, USAOpus One is the realized dream of two men: Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux and Napa Valley vintner Robert Mondavi. Together, the founders set out to create a single wine dedicated to the pursuit of uncompromising quality. This mission shapes every vintage, today and for generations to come. Rising gently from the earth around it, the Opus One winery does not rush to reveal itself. The building sits in harmony with its natural surroundings, offering a soft transition from the vineyard to its lush, green grass exterior. Just as it honors the land, it honors the light. Great winemaking begins in the vineyard. When the founders created Opus One, they dreamed of a great wine that would transcend generations. Nearly four decades later, they continue to refine the complex subtleties of Opus One by honoring traditional methods and the continual pursuit of innovation and improvement. The estate vineyards of Opus One, comprised of four parcels, sit in the western portion of the famed Oakville AVA. Two parcels, totaling 100 acres, are within the renowned To Kalon Vineyard. These are complemented by the combined 70 acres of the Ballestra and River parcels, which envelop the winery. In the vineyards, hand-harvesting and other traditional approaches are taken wherever they work best. When modern techniques benefit the wine-growing process, they are researched, evaluated, and integrated into practice. Guided by the vision of the founders, the winemaker, Michael Silacci, combines intuition and technical acumen with the dual perspective of viticulturist and winemaker. From tasting berries to careful sorting and extended aging in new French oak barrels, each stage of the winemaking process is afforded the same meticulous consideration and attention. After 18 months, the wine is bottled and held for an additional 15 months until release on October 1st each year. As farmers and artisans, deeply concerned with the collective future, Opus One recognizes that sustainability practices benefit the winery, its neighbors, and its customers. The culture and internal practices at Opus One reflect their commitment to conservation and responsible consumption in the areas of energy, water, waste management, transportation, purchasing, and food. They have been certified as a green winery as part of the Napa Valley Vintners- Napa Green Initiative and is implementing more than 100 favorable and environmentally friendly procedures.

Sterling Vineyards
1111 W Dunaweal Ln, Calistoga, CA 94515, USASterling Vineyards includes a sprawling eight ranches and vineyards spread around Napa Valley. The Diamond Mountain Ranch lies west of the town of Calistoga, near the top of the Diamond Mountain American Viticultural Area. The ranch’s 120 acres, planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, range in elevation from 1,700 to 2,000 feet, climbing the steep northern face of the Mayacamas Mountains. Nearly vertical slopes, austere soils, and dry farming stress the vines planted here, and low-vigor volcanic soils provide minimal nutrition. This results in small, intensely concentrated fruit clusters that make deeply pigmented, assertive wines with full body and rich tannins. The Bear Flats Estate Vineyard lies north of the town of St. Helena and slopes from Highway 29 to the Napa River. This location within the Calistoga AVA of Napa Valley allows the vineyard to experience hotter daytime temps following cool mornings that extend the ripening period. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot thrive, producing grapes with rich, plush flavors and optimal ripeness, in the well-drained, gravelly loam soil of this 87-acre vineyard. North of St. Helena, on the east side of Highway 29, Larsen Ranch features alluvial clay loam on both sides of the Napa River. This site’s 50 acres are planted exclusively to Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Southwest of the town of Calistoga, Peterson Ranch rises from 700 to 900 feet above the valley floor. The complex aspects of the terraced mountain sides create micro climates within the vineyard. The Cabernet Sauvignon planted here develops concentrated varietal expression in the well-drained, deep, rich loam of this vineyard’s 60 planted acres. Wines from this vineyard are very intense with weight and richness that give way to complex layers of aroma and flavor. Located south of the town of Calistoga, Calistoga Ranch sits astride the Napa River and is comprised of alluvial loam soils. The cooling influence of the Napa River ensures cool mornings followed by hot days allowing for longer ripening period. The vineyard's 45 acres are planted exclusively to Sauvignon Blanc, which develop a bright varietal expression. The meticulously farmed Sleeping Lady Vineyard is located in the Yountville AVA of the Napa Valley. The Sleeping Lady Vineyard, on the west bench of Yountville sitting up against the Mayacamas Mountains, and is named for the distinctive foothills behind the property that look like a woman laying on her side. The pristine vineyard of just over 50 acres has six clones of Cabernet Sauvignon grown on it; Sterling Vineyards winemaker Harry Hansen works with three of these clones (2, 22, and 30). The Yates Family vineyard is found moderately high, just above the town of Napa, planted at an elevation of 1,100 feet. Mt. Veeder is one of Napa’s most unique AVAs, the southernmost and coolest growing region, known for an extended growing season and volcanic soils with a variety of micro climates. The vineyard is found at the end of Redwood Road, near the Archer Taylor Preserve managed by the Land Trust of Napa Valley. Vineyards were first planted here in the 1860s and have been used by Sterling via a long-term partnership. The Tamagni Estate Vineyard is comprised of 53 planted acres that lie south of the town of Calistoga between the Silverado Trail and the Napa River. Situated within the prestigious Calistoga AVA of Napa Valley, the vineyard is primarily planted to Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. These varieties thrive in this property’s sandy loam, clay loam, and alluvial loam soils.

Del Dotto
1551 Sage Canyon Rd, St Helena, CA 94574, USALocated in the beautiful Napa Valley, Del Dotto Family Wineries & Caves focus on small production, premium wines. Dave Del Dotto has spent the past 25 years acquiring vineyards in some of the best American Viticultural Areas including Rutherford, Oakville, St. Helena, Howell Mountain, and Fort Ross-Seaview Sonoma Coast. Currently, the family produces cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, sangiovese and sauvignon blanc from the Napa Valley vineyards, as well as pinot noir, chardonnay and limited amounts of syrah, sauvignon blanc, sparkling grenache and mourvedre from the Cinghiale Vineyard in the King Ridge region of the Sonoma Coast. With a family name rooted in winemaking since the 1400s, wine was in Dave’s veins. He started collecting bottles in the late ‘80s. In 1988, he was on a wine-buying trip in Napa Valley with his wife Yolanda when they stumbled upon a beautiful 1912 Frank Lloyd Wright craftsman house located in the desirable Rutherford appellation. Dave had a palate for fine wines and a love for real estate, and he knew the Rutherford property had the potential to produce some remarkable grapes. He and Yolanda purchased the 17-acre property on the spot after falling in love with the view. Shortly after, the family moved from Kona, Hawaii, and in 1990, continued the 800-year old Del Dotto legacy by planting new rootstock of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and sangiovese. Dave and Yolanda, along with their two children, Desiree and Giovanni, live and work in Napa Valley, overseeing the operations of their three wineries: Historic Del Dotto, Del Dotto Estate and Piazza Del Dotto. The family’s impact is noticeable across all aspects of the business—from the vineyards to the tasting rooms and caves—the wine, the food pairings, the architecture, ambiance and décor are all influenced by the family’s desire to offer every guest the best winery experience in Napa Valley. While the wines are their masterpiece, a great wine tasting must have world-class food that brings the wine to life. The executive chef Joshua Schwartz, formerly of The French Laundry, Per Se, Bouchon and Bouley, has also been with the family for more than a decade and his inspired cuisine has highlighted how to marry the art of wine and food. From house-cured salumi and slow-braised meats to vegetables from the garden and Grandma Dee’s handmade ravioli, Chef Joshua collaborates on a unique menu that embodies the season and pairs perfectly and highlights the amazing wines.

Robert Sinskey Vineyards
6320 Silverado Trail, Napa, CA 94558, USARSV is a second-generation, family-owned and operated vineyard and winery guided by the principle that the craft of winegrowing begins with the care of the soil. Every vine for every wine was planted by RSV with every vineyard certified* organic. One could say that RSV is beyond organic. Since 1991, RSV has been practicing the “whole farm” philosophy of interrelationships based on Rudolph Steiner’s 1928 lecture “Agriculture.” This approach addresses the damage done by modern, mechanized farming to heal an ailing earth, tapping into the rhythms of nature, encouraging natural processes to grow balanced wine grapes that require little more than attentiveness to craft into expressive, vibrant and living wines. RSV approaches the cellar with purist sensibilities. Winemaker Jeff Virnig provides the knowledge of nearly 35 years in the RSV cellar and vineyards, crafting wines that are true to variety and place. RSV to maintains a house style of elegance, balance and finesse. RSV does not submit wine for review by score-centric critics, because to taste wine in a competitive atmosphere, without food on the table, rewards muscular wines that shout while ignoring well-crafted wines of subtlety and grace that compliment the table… attributes that define the fine wines of RSV. Fine wine needs to evolve from a distinct point of view – a self-imposed discipline to navigate the siren song of temptation. Otherwise, you may wake up one day to find yourself fabricating a wine to placate a critic or fill a market segment, and discover your craft has devolved into just another recipe for soulless wine. Find out why RSV was named Sunset magazine’s tasting room of the year and the Wine Spectator featured it as a must visit winery in Napa Valley. But don’t take their word for it, come see it for yourself. Great wine is about good food and good people. You will find all that and more at RSV. RSV is dedicated to the agrarian, culinary experience. Sheep graze the vineyards and provide wool, pelts and meat. Edible landscape, extensive culinary gardens and fruit orchards cover the winery grounds and vineyards. Beehives dot the backside of RSV’s Capa Vineyard where they pollinate the orchards and provide honey. RSV has even planted an experimental truffle orchard with English Oaks and Filberts… because elegant, balanced wines should be served with produce and meats from the gardens and/or artisan purveyors and prepared in RSV’s Vineyard Kitchen.

Alpine Ranch
5241 St Helena Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, USAAlpine Ranch, built in the 1980's, was a premier Arabian horse facility, known as Palo Verde, designed as a breeding stable, with 95 stalls, a show barn, 1/4 mile track and formal courtyard. Custom-milled cedar wood and stained-glass windows are still part of the architecture. The 1900's farmhouse, with original stone foundation, was originally the homestead for the largest ranch in what was known as Sonoma Counties' Alpine Valley. Today, Alpine Ranch is a working equestrian barn and vineyard; the Arabian show barn has been converted to an event space and the original farmhouse is a guest cottage. The large equestrian estate is available for a small number of events a year. The property is nestled in the Mayacamas mountain range between Calistoga, St. Helena and Santa Rosa. Your special event can be held in one of their cedar barns, the 13,000 square foot large open courtyard at the center of the equestrian complex, or in what was once the show barn for Arabian horses. Alpine Ranch is a working ranch and vineyard, in addition to being a great place to throw a party. They have horses, hay, rolling fields, and rambling, rustic space under the barn rafters to help make your celebration special and memorable. The farm house, built in the early 1900s, was the homestead for the original Alpine Ranch, which ranged hundreds of acres. At the corner of two idyllic Sonoma County roads, the three bedroom cottage overlooks California Oak trees and horse pastures. A two-night stay is included when you book your event. When the day finally arrives, the Distinct Locations team will ensure that all aspects of the property are in perfect harmony, and you will know you are in the perfect place.

Chateau Montelena
1429 Tubbs Ln, Calistoga, CA 94515, USAAt Montelena, they question everything — convention, past methodologies, or how they can do something just a little bit better. With the freedom to explore, we have the privilege to learn. And by asking ourselves why, we can better understand the path to how. With a 14-decade legacy comes the responsibility for further growth and at Montelena they refuse to rest on their laurels. Chateau Montelena has a celebrated history, and the Judgment of Paris is just one chapter. Modern technology does not replace people or the art in winemaking but expands the creative potential. There are no formulas here. Careful consideration drives every project with the determination to build the future. Fifty years of Barrett ownership have cultivated a profound understanding of the land we farm at Montelena. At Montelena, they are not interested in recreating a specific flavor in the wines year after year, but capturing each unique season through the lens of our growing site. Their goal is to paint with all of the colors, with uniqueness expressed in every vintage. Regardless of your wine background, Montelena speaks to who you are and where you are. There is a unique story living within each bottle they craft. They build our wines to stand the test of time. The cellar, comprising every vintage they have made, is testament to this belief. However, ageability isn’t solely a trial of endurance but rather an opportunity to flourish. Each bottle should taste delicious today and continue to evolve, rewarding patience in the future. Montelena is open for tasting experiences by reservation. They look forward to welcoming you to the Estate for a tasting reservation or to pick up a wine purchase. To join them on the Estate, you must have a reservation or pickup confirmation, and all members of your party must be aged 21 years of age or older. Chateau Montelena is located at the top of Napa Valley in Calistoga. Please allow at least 45 minutes from downtown Napa and two hours from San Francisco. The winery is open by appointment only 9:30am to 4pm, with the exception of select dates.

Pine Ridge Vineyards
5901 Silverado Trail, Napa, CA 94558, USAFounded in 1978 by Gary Andrus, Pine Ridge Vineyards sits in the heart of the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, famous for Cabernet Sauvignon wines of distinctive power and elegance. Today, the winery owns estate vineyards in five premier Napa Valley appellations: Stags Leap District, Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros. Everyone on their team, from vineyard to cellar, is united in the desire to create wines that honor their remarkable origins with unique expression. At Pine Ridge Vineyards, they are committed to and have always embraced sustainable practices. They take every step we can to preserve the ecosystem of the region, and their Napa Green certification demonstrates their commitment as responsible stewards of the land. The multidisciplinary in-house Green Team meets regularly to monitor and improve their practices and to implement the latest sustainable practices, ensuring long-term viability of the business and quality of life in the community. This philosophy allows them to deliver wines that express their natural origin and will be complex and elegant for years to come. Since their founding in 1978, Pine Ridge Vineyards has invested in 160 acres of estate vineyards, 47 of which are in our home appellation, Stags Leap District. They also own vineyards throughout the most renowned growing regions of Napa Valley: Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros. This great diversity of terroir inspires their winemaking team to craft wines that reflect the outstanding characteristics of their distinct origins. Since 2003, Gustavo Aviña, the Director of Viticulture, has worked intimately with every Pine Ridge Vineyards estate property. He and his team understand the soils and climates of the winery’s vineyards. If he had to choose a favorite, Gustavo might pick Howell Mountain. He likes the way this steeply sloping vineyard is challenging to farm; it’s also the first vineyard he developed from the ground up for Pine Ridge Vineyards. Their winemaking philosophy is guided by the thoughtful selection of vineyard blocks designated for each wine. Their goal is to honor the unique winemaking needs of each of our estate vineyards in five different appellations, as well as the ever-changing demands of each new vintage. Meticulous attention to detail in the cellar allows them to craft appellation wines that express their distinct terroir with power, elegance, and texture. The Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon blend is produced from as many as 80 different small lots—wines that showcase the complex expression of this storied winegrowing region. Our winemaking team also leads extensive barrel trials to determine the aging approaches that best enhance the personality of each wine; these programs are well-known locally for bringing winemakers together in the rustic ambiance of their caves.
