Long Branch Historic House and Farm is a circa-1811 manor house set on 400 acres of Virginia countryside in Boyce, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Clarke County — about an hour and a half from Washington, D.C. and fifteen minutes from Berryville and Winchester. The nonprofit property doubles as a working horse retirement farm, and its gardens, lawns, and historic rooms are used for weddings, private parties, and community gatherings throughout the year. For ceremonies, couples can choose between the Sheila Macqueen Garden, which accommodates around 125 guests, or the more intimate Rose Garden, which holds about 25. Indoors, the mansion's East Gallery seats up to 75 for a smaller wedding or reception, with a 40-by-100-foot tent pad available on the grounds for larger seated events. A Bridal Suite with its own dressing room and bathroom, along with a Groom's "Tack Room," give wedding parties dedicated space to prepare before the ceremony. Long Branch hosts a limited number of weddings each year, capped at 150 guests, and gives couples flexibility to bring their own licensed caterers and vendors. In the heart of the picturesque Shenandoah Valley, the property is located in Stanley, Virginia, just a short drive from Washington, DC. The property is available for immediate occupancy. The mountains of Shenandoah National Park are our neighbors, and we are also fortunate enough to have the Shenandoah River bordering our property. Several attractions outside of the National Park are available in Page County, which is also known as the "cabin capital of Virginia," so finding lodging is rarely a problem. [Please see our vendor page for more information.] We are a new venue that is currently undergoing renovations in order to make the barn as accommodating as possible for all of our guests. A bridal suite and storage space will be added to the main level of the barn. Restrooms, a kitchenette, and a bridal suite storage area will also be added to this level. River Road is a family-owned farm that has been in the Painter family for several generations. When Cody and Jessica announced their engagement, they knew they wanted to include their family farm in their wedding celebrations. It had taken several long weeks of renovations, but they were finally able to enjoy having their family and friends come together for the event. A perfect September day provided the setting for their ceremony along the south fork of the Shenandoah River, followed by a reception in the big red barn at the venue. After that day, it was clear that this beautiful property should be enjoyed by more people than just the family who had purchased it. Housed in a converted 1891 tobacco exchange and inspection warehouse in Danville, Virginia's historic River District, Cottontail Weddings preserves original architectural details — exposed brick, heavy timber supports, and original hardwood floors — while adding modern crystal chandeliers and color up-lighting for contemporary celebrations. The building operated under several owners, including the Liggett and Myers Company from 1930 to 1970, before its renovation into an event venue; Cottontail has hosted weddings and celebrations there since 2017. The venue's 3,600-square-foot Main Ballroom seats up to 175 guests, with a preferred range of 100 to 150 for comfort and flexibility, and can host both ceremony and reception in the same room. Rental includes linens, tables and chairs, LED lighting, a catering prep kitchen, and bridal and groom preparation suites, and couples can walk guests next door to Ballad Brewing for a cocktail-hour tasting-room experience. Cottontail hosts only one event per day, giving each celebration its full attention.

Bright Box Theater occupies a renovated historic building at the heart of Old Town Winchester, Virginia, on the pedestrian Walking Mall directly across from the old courthouse. Opened in 2013, the venue has hosted more than 2,000 events, blending its classic architecture with state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and projection systems. Best known as a stage for live music and comedy — with past performers ranging from Keller Williams to Grammy-winning acts — Bright Box also opens its rooms for private celebrations, from wedding receptions to business meetings. Four Eleven York is a boutique bed and breakfast and fine-dining restaurant in Norfolk's historic Freemason district, occupying a Victorian building dating to the 1890s. Formerly known as the Freemason Inn, the property was renovated over a year and a half and now combines two historic structures into a unified inn and restaurant. Original details, including beaded chandeliers, pocket doors, and refinished hardwood floors, remain alongside a third-floor skylight that lights the building by day and moonlight by night. The property hosts intimate weddings, elopements, and private events in an outdoor courtyard shaded by a pergola, along with several indoor dining rooms and a front living room, accommodating gatherings from small showers up to a maximum of 50 guests for full venue buyouts. The Main and Middle Dining Rooms open into one another for larger groups, while the Living Room suits bridal showers and cocktail parties. Our Ciders are made in small batches. When it comes to our Cidery, Mount Defiance is extremely proud to offer both classic and craft ciders.
