What are the three most critical elements of throwing a successful event?
Creating energy, an experience at every stage of the event, and being flexible.
You’ve worked with some bold names over the years. Who was most memorable?
I loved working with Anthony Anderson, Queen Latifah, Common, Vanessa Williams, Jennifer Hudson, Michael McDonald and Don Felder of the Eagles—but I was most honored to work with President Bill Clinton. We worked very hard to secure his appearance and with only a month’s notice.
How have you adapted to change in your industry?
Recently, with COVID-19, I remained resilient. Our goal was to help nonprofits continue fundraising in light of restrictions. We executed live (not recorded) virtual events and monetized the platform for engaging live auctions to live audiences and the results were staggering.
How have you evolved your business amid social distancing requirements?
We provide intimate and well-curated events to best engage audiences. Our live and hybrid events planned for fall/winter are popular because the virtual experience is interactive and a true two-way experience. Engagement is essential for or fundraising and mission-focused content.
How do you push yourself to stand out among your market competitors?
I am always pushing events to the next level. It’s all about engagement and the experience. In addition to event production, we fundraise for our nonprofits clients. We typically raise 40% more, double or triple for our clients. We work really hard for nonprofits because they work hard to do good.
