At Alexandra Dettori Catering and Events, we strive to delight with incredible food, crafted beverages and attentive service. We believe in getting the best ingredients available, making everything from scratch. Our creations are meant to highlight the incredible flavors of the ingredients while surpassing expectations and leaving your guests asking for more. Our cuisine is rooted in French techniques with global influences and all our menus are custom to reflect our clients' vision be it for small or large gatherings. We offer our services for both private and corporate events in NY and wherever your celebration takes us! A word from the founder, Alex: I always had a passion for hosting and culinary delights though my career actually started in Law, in Belgium. I had been around food since I was a child, by way of my mother, who created this mixed culinary environment at home. She learned traditional Italian cooking from my dad, brought her own East African (Ethiopian/Eritrean) heritage and adding the culinary influences of Europe and mostly, the country I was born in – Belgium. She gave me a wide variety of culinary experiences from a very young age. I believe food is a source of pride and pleasure, it allows people to gather and rejoice and make the most memorable experiences. In Belgium, there is a saying that could be translated into the following “One should stretch all good things in Life so that one can enjoy them for as long as possible”. This certainly applies, every occasion was a reason to gather around the table and feast… Fast forward a few years and in 2013, I decided to enroll in the Culinary Arts program at the International Culinary Center (f.k.a. The French Culinary Institute) where I solidified my fundamentals in French cuisine. In 2016, I started Alexandra Dettori Catering + Events with the desire to offer experiences where I could share my culinary journey and influences, all of that prepared with the best ingredients and, of course, Love.
