Brix Catering & Events is a dynamic team that combines the talents of a classically educated Chef, Sommelier, and Event Planner to ensure that your next event is a success from beginning to end. We have the knowledge, enthusiasm, and meticulous attention to detail that a memorable event necessitates. Brix can handle traditional catering, a multi-course meal, wine pairings, chef demos, and full-scale event planning. Chef de cuisine Joe Gancarz began his career in the kitchen out of need while in college. These modest beginnings in a chain of fast casual restaurants were only the beginning of a long and illustrious career. Joe deviated from the safe path and enrolled in Kendall College's culinary program in Chicago. Joe's numerous honors in school, including being named to the deans list and being chosen as a teaching assistant, attest to his never-say-die mentality, which has served him well throughout his culinary career. Joe worked in a number of Michelin-starred restaurants after graduation, including a stint as Chef de Cuisine, where he was in charge of a substantial section of the menu that gained the star, as well as a spot on the 2015 Zagat 30 Under 30 Best Young Innovative Chefs list.
