About Bug's Face Paint

In 2018, Ciara was wearing glitter while cashiering at a grocery store when a customer approached her about learning to paint children’s faces. It was love on the first try! She worked under experienced painters who mentored her before going solo as Bug's Face Paint. She is a professional face and body artist servicing Houston, Texas, with six years of experience, and is pursuing a BA in Fine Arts & Art History at University of Houston-Clear Lake. She works as an art educator on the weekdays so you can expect the patience, organization, and clear communication necessary to maintain order and ensure a positive experience for each child waiting for their turn in the face painting line. Rooted in her core as a painter, she holds a deep appreciation for the finesse of clean line work and the graceful flow of organic movements in her creations. She can paint anything you ask her to paint-- in fact, she loves a challenge! Ciara can accommodate large corporate & community events to family birthday parties to body painting requests. For ease of mind, she can provide a background check and uses all professional grade FDA compliant, hypoallergenic water based face paints and glitters. Beyond the realm of face and body art, she finds joy in traditional and digital illustration, where her work is infused with the childlike whimsy that fuels her imagination.

FAQs 5

how do i remove face paint?
All products we use are cosmetic grade and should be removed using gentle cleansers, like makeup removers or non-comedogenic facial oil. Face Paint: Work a small amount of soap/cleanser into the skin Add a little water to generate a nice lather Gently wipe the face wipe the face with a damp rag
what kinds of products are you using? are they safe?
All products are professional-grade and therefore hypoallergenic, FDA compliant, and formulated for use on the skin. The staple paint brands in my kit are Superstar, Diamond FX, Fusion, and Global. Neon colors are currently being tested for approval by the FDA, but no known reactions have occurred.
What are your sanitation practices?
All equipment is sanitized and cleaned between each event. Artists will not apply paint to anyone appearing sick, or any areas with open wounds, eczema, or sunburn. I use one sponge per guest and sanitize my paintbrushes with 71% alcohol between uses.
What should I expect logistically when working with you?
I arrive 10-15 minutes early for set-up. My set-up includes a 4ft x 2ft table with a black table cloth and a directors chair. I stand while painting so there is no need to provide any chairs/tables. I bring a menu board of designs for guests to choose from, and I create complimentary custom menus.
Can you paint to a theme or paint a logo?
Definitely. I can limit my color palette to your company's color scheme and create a custom stencil with detailed logos. This is also available to private parties with strict themes. There is a small fee depending on complexity and number of custom designs and stencils.
