Charlotte Jenks Lewis has always been first and foremost a visual person, an artist. Once she picked up a camera, composing beautiful images came naturally to her. Charlotte has quickly made a name for herself in the editorial world; Martha Stewart Weddings selected her in a short list of top photographers (one of just six in New York ) and Brides magazine awarded her the Editor’s Choice Award. And though public recognition is a wonderful thing, it's the heartfelt appreciation Charlotte receives from happy clients that makes shooting weddings so rewarding. Charlotte's art has a romantic, playful, and intimate quality. She brings a storytelling style and well-trained eye to her photography. Her images appear effortless, artful, and so candid that they may even feel accidental. It’s those sincere, quiet connections that are at the essence of every wedding. At an event, Charlotte herself is relaxed and funny, adept at making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. What differentiates her work from most is an understanding of beautiful light, combined with an understanding of people. She uses both film and digital mediums, along with a mix of antique cameras, to create images that are varied and interesting. Before she began running around with heavy bags of cameras, Charlotte graduated from Vassar College. When she’s not shooting, she enjoys renovating her Brooklyn row house, as well as jungle-gyming and dog-parking with her family of boys. Charlotte’s wedding photography has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, Town and Country Weddings, New York Magazine Weddings, Brides, and she is a regular fixture on Style Me Pretty. She has versatility in her field; her commercial work has been featured in Marie Claire, Country Living, and O Magazine, Neiman Marcus, Ann Taylor, and Crane & Co
