About David Monn
David Monn is an esteemed New York-based artist and designer. Dubbed “the Architect of Style,” and known for creating some of the city’s most memorable events for institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Costume Institute Ball), the New York Public Library Lions, the Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Opera, and the New York City Ballet. For the Park Avenue Armory, David Monn created “In the Void,” an experiential, theatrical performance. David Monn also has been called upon to create the settings for some of the city’s most monumental landmark occasions, such as the Grand Opening of the Time Warner Center, the 100th Birthday Celebration of the Plaza Hotel, and the Centennial Celebration for the New York Public Library. Known for his elegant taste, exquisite attention to detail, discipline and refinement, his work always reflects a genuine appreciation of the five senses. David Monn has creativity and skills that have been engaged by widely disparate venues, from the White House to the Venice Biennale. Before working as an event planner, David Monn was a contributing editor and columnist for Departures magazine, and had worked in the fashion, interior design and jewelry industries. David Monn is now CEO of his own firm, David Monn, LLC, based in New York City. Monn’s success is based on a personal philosophy, a commitment to beauty which intends to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary; whether it is a celebration for 2 or 2000, David Monn has the biggest intention to engage people in an experience that lasts in memory.
