Emmanuel Del Casal

I'd like to introduce myself; my name is Emmanuel del Casal, and I serve as the Maestro of Music and Events. It has taken me more than 30 years to get to the point where I am now, which is working as a professional musician and as a professional in the field of special events. It has been a wonderful journey that has taken me all over the world to perform music, making original music in countless projects and bands, recording in studios, and learning the business of booking gigs and musical performance for special events among other things. Being the Source of the Music and the Events As an Events Professional, one of the hats I wear is that of a Maestro when I am working with unique private events. I have performed at thousands of gigs and events of varying kinds over the course of my career, which has spanned more than 30 years. For the past twenty years, my primary focus has been performing at intimate special private events. It is not the same thing to be hired to perform for a private event as it is to play live music in a public venue like a nightclub, bar, restaurant, tavern, or cafe. These are two different things entirely. Putting on a show for a private event necessitates familiarity with the appropriate professional procedures, which is essential to the event's overall success. When going out to a nightclub, bar, or even out on the street busking, one might come across a fantastic band or highly talented musicians, and have the thought that they would be perfect for a wedding or a corporate event. That is a plausible explanation. However, it is possible that they are not the best option to play for a private event, particularly one of a more upscale nature. There is no reason to believe that the band will not perform to the same standard at a private event or that they lack musical talent. The issue is the musicians' or band's level of professionalism, awareness, and expertise in terms of understanding the totality of an event. This includes understanding the entire process of planning, the band's role in the process, working with the event planner or client, and performing flawlessly on the day of the event. It might come as a surprise to you (although it probably won't...grin), but not every musician is well equipped to deal with all of the specifics and expectations that are required of professional special event vendors. This is something that is required of professional special event vendors. Because these expectations are skill sets that have nothing to do with the craft of performing music, and instead are skill sets in commerce, contracting, marketing, negotiating, organization, communication, attention to details, punctuality, reliability, appropriate attire, and all attributes necessary for the outcome of a successful event experience. The reason for this is because these expectations are skill sets that have nothing to do with the craft of performing music. These specific skill sets are not typically covered in music school curriculum. There are a lot of musicians who don't have these skill sets. Those who are able to do so are the bandleaders, but a significant number of bandleaders themselves do not possess adequate equipment. There is a clear application of the 80/20 rule here.
