Fleurs Petite

I didn't know I wanted to be a florist when I was younger. What I always felt was that I had a strong need to create, and that following other people's rules about how to do so never worked out very well for me. So, I suppose art school was a foregone conclusion. My fine art education began in high school at Walnut Hill, one of the few arts-based high schools in the country, and continued in Massachusetts College of Art & Design. Like many art school grads, I struggled to find a way to turn my desire to create into a career after graduation. After five years, a friend from Mass Art advised I apply for a job at Boston's most prominent flower shop. I was convinced there was no chance I could get the job; yet, I was mistaken. I spent over a decade learning from the best of the best and working in some of the most prestigious locations I could imagine. Everything I learned there has been invaluable to me. When I found out I was expecting my first child, I knew everything in my life would change. I made the decision to leave my employment, unsure of what would happen next. One of the many things about parenthood that startled me was how much I missed flowers. I started off with a partner, another mother who understood how difficult it was to juggle multiple priorities. We both agreed that it would take around five years for anyone to even recognize us; we were mistaken. What had started off as a side hustle had developed into a full-time employment after approximately a year. Fleur Events, a full-service floral and paper design firm, was founded in January of 2015. Fleur Events has been a huge success beyond my wildest dreams. The Improper Bostonian selected us Boston's Best Wedding Florist in 2017. We were working with dream customers and wedding planners to curate one-of-a-kind floral design installations and working in all of our favorite settings, from private estates to historic monuments, after only three years in business. We are overjoyed to finally be able to offer fleurs petite to couples in New England.
