Group Therapy

Over the course of the past ten years, Group Therapy has amassed a loyal fanbase in the Metrowest region thanks to the band's expansive sound, clean harmonies, and powerful brass attack. This ensemble of seasoned musicians have a wealth of vocal talent, with four members taking turns singing lead vocals on any given night. The foundation of the melody is laid down by electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and keyboards. The addition of congas and timbales gives the mixture an extra kick. With these components, Group Therapy is able to span a diverse spectrum of musical styles and eras, from the music of Woodstock through that of the 1970s and 1980s, including New Orleans funk, country rock, pop, and contemporary hits. The band performs cover versions of famous, danceable songs by artists such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Chicago, Average White Band, Joss Stone, and C. Lo Green, amongst many more. The band specializes on playing acoustic music for occasions that are smaller and more personal. They have a diverse song selection from which they may choose, with options spanning rock, pop, country, oldies, and modern music. When playing for larger audiences, the band incorporates a funkier sound by adding a four-piece brass section. In addition, it shakes, swings, and in general inspires a want to get up and dance.
