Coming from New Orleans, I was raised to appreciate the little things in life. I believe that the tiny successes and quiet moments are what make us. Whether it's high fiving for a win at Mario Kart or trailing behind a brass band in a body costume made of sequins, I believe that the small victories and quiet moments are what shape us. In my case, that would be having lunch with my father. Together with my lover, we are watching Japanese reality TV shows. Those evenings where you tell yourself, "Okay, just one more," but then you wind up dancing till the sun comes up anyhow. The unpredictable nature of life. And mundane. Additionally exciting. And at the same time, so many different things. I think that we should try to feel everything that we can and should also try to remember not to take ourselves too seriously. Because it turns out that the really insignificant moments are just as significant as the truly monumental ones.
