"I love moving through a crowded New York City street or room full of bustling energy capturing priceless moments. Most of all, I really enjoy what I do. Drawing on a distinct ability to create a comfortable and trusting environment in an instant, I strive to encourage individuals to open up for the camera, creating photos that reflect a connection. I'm a hopeless romantic mixed with a good dose of comedy and eternal sunshine. I take pride in seeing the little things from an angle you might not have considered before you met me." Capturing events for over 10 years, Kari Otero Photo is a boutique company specializing in Bar/Bat Mitzvah photography. Native of California, Kari currently works in New York and is the owner and lead photographer of Kari Otero Photo. Above and beyond her photographic skills, she also has an extensive background in performance and art direction. This work required a keen ability to quickly see and understand how people move and present themselves and to help illuminate their best qualities and distinct personalities onstage. She incorporates this unique expertise into every photo shoot. Her clients can count on her easy to work with personality, high energy and creative nature to shine through every event.

Where are you based?
Most of my work is photographed throughout the sites and venues in New York City. I hold meetings and office hours in New York as well.
What is your style of photographer?
I believe in delivering a healthy mix of strong portraits and emotionally driven candids. I love to elevate moments with energy and direction and I think that quality really stands out in my photographs.
What kind of equipment do you photograph with?
I use Canon professional gear and Profoto lighting. I'm continually investing in new and innovative equipment to provide my clients with the best image quality and keep me as mobile as possible on site.
How many photographers attend the event?
My photo team traditionally consists of myself as the lead along with a strong associate photographer and assistant. Depending on the size of your event, a third associate photographer is often added.
How many images do you end up with for most events?
You can rest easy knowing your event will be very well documented. We work hard from start to finish ensuring a variety of shots and complete coverage of your event. Clients can expect to receive approximately 800-1200 final images in their gallery.
