Laura Buriton Photography

Photographer Laura Burlton is a local Houstonian who who works professionally in the field. I believe that education should be ongoing and am now teaching photography at the Houston Center for Photography. My area of expertise is in traditional photographic techniques, particularly wet plate collodion and tintype photography. I also work as a portrait and wedding photographer on a full-time basis. My two girls are frequently the object of my photography musings. Here are some examples. My photographs have been exhibited in galleries and museums as far afield as Canada, Austria, and Spain, where they are now part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. I would adore the opportunity to create some one-of-a-kind heritage art for you! South Texas is where I spent much of my childhood, although I also spent time in Austin, Oklahoma City, and the United Kingdom. My family has a long history of artistic achievement. My mother was a really creative person, and she taught me how to sketch, sew, embroider, quilt, and perform other crafts. When I was still a small child, my father taught me the fundamentals of photography. My hands were never idle since I always had something productive to do with them. In addition to that, I was always a voracious reader, and I have always had a very active imagination. As I've gotten older, I've made it a point to maintain that quality. At the present, my family and I call Houston, Texas home. We have two children who are in their teenage years, and my husband and I both work as photographers. I teach photography at the Houston Center for Photography, and I also manage my own studio where I capture portraits and weddings.
