Lou Malnati's is considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, with a history as rich as its pizza. Lou Malnati began his career in Chicago's first deep dish pizzeria in the 1940s. On March 17, 1971, he and his wife Jean founded the first Lou Malnati's Pizzeria in Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, with their pizza expertise. Lou was recognized for his outgoing personality as well as his ability to make the best pizza in Chicago. On opening day, loyal customers lined the streets to sample his delectable deep dish dishes.
