About Louis Dibiccari
Louis DiBiccari is a young chef and culinary artist who has made a name for himself in Boston. Louis DiBiccari, like many other outstanding chefs of our day, is a local talent. Louis, the celebrity chef speaker, learned to cook from his Italian mother's unique dishes. Louis began experimenting with cooking in his apartment while attending Fitchburg State University, and finally chose to pursue his growing interest by enrolling in culinary school in Scottsdale, Arizona. DiBiccari's first job was in the kitchen of legendary chef Christopher Gross's restaurant Christopher's Bistro in Phoenix, where he needed to obtain professional experience in the kitchen. Louis made the decision to return to Boston at this point and pursue an internship with Season's restaurant. This boosted his career and secured him a job at the Sel de la Terre alongside Geoff Gardner. He would spend the next 12 years there, cementing his position as a major player in the sector. He was designated chef de cuisine at the Back Bay restaurant in 2008 and given complete control of the kitchen. For his work at the Back Bay, DiBiccari was named one of StarChefs.com's "Rising Star Chefs." Louis has also established a concept called "Chef Louie Nights," in which guests vote on themes and ingredients on his website, and then Louie and other participating chefs must race around the city for materials and prepare the dishes on the spot the morning of the event. Louis and his brother Michael DiBiccari started their own restaurant, Tavern Road, in Boston in 2013. The restaurant has been a big hit, and it boasts a unique menu with upmarket bar food alternatives. In addition to the sit-down restaurant, Louis has launched a Tavern Road street cart, which serves a limited menu on the street. Create: six artists, six chefs, one canvas is another initiative created by Louis DiBiccari. The concept is that a local Boston chef is partnered with a local Boston artist, with the purpose of collaborating to create a dish that displays both the chef's and artist's artistic qualities. The purpose is to depict the relationship between culinary and visual arts from a unique Boston perspective.
