About Lucky Heart Event Planning & Design
Founded in 2018
Lucky Heart is a boutique event planning company established in 2018 by Mindy Home. With a love for art and art-making, she landed her first job in high school at a flower shop and was immediately hooked on all things event-related. Equal parts planner, artist, designer, unlicensed therapist (according to some clients!), etiquette sounding board, budget guru, vision definer, collaborator, and calming force; Mindy will help guide you seamlessly through the planning process while coming out the other side with an amazing event. A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, she has over 20 years of combined experience with a background that spans floral design, college admissions, visual merchandising for luxury brands, and event planning. Prior to Lucky Heart’s launch, she worked for 8 years at a premier Boston-based planning firm; starting as their first full-time employee and exiting as their Creative Director. With her artistic eye and impeccable style, Mindy loves helping her clients create memorable, one-of-a-kind events. These include: weddings, mitzvahs, galas, and other super-fab events that have varied in size from 13 guests up to 1500. - What's your favorite part of a wedding?
- I like to send a text to the couple with the time the officiant pronounced them married. There’s something fun about noting the exact time. At my own wedding a friend wrote “6:45:00” on the back of his place card to let us know when it became official. It means you’re truly witnessing it.
- What's your favorite part of a party?
- If I’m attending? Dancing. If I’ve planned it? Also dancing. Watching everyone cut loose is always fun and sometimes at the very end of the night, when we have a little time before we have to clean-up, I just might show off some moves.
- Will you arrange and manage meetings with my other vendors?
- Absolutely! We know everyone's time is important and coordinating meetings on your behalf is part of what we do. If we attend alongside you, we'll come prepared with questions/action items to make the most of the meeting. If you are meeting the vendor solo, we'll send you with discussion points.
- Do I pay vendors directly, or will you handle payment coordination?
- In most cases, Clients have vendor contracts in their name which they sign and send payments for. Lucky Heart still reviews the contract in advance for red flags and sends reminders for future payments. For select Clients we can work out other payment options.
- How many people from your team will be on-site during my event?
- This depends on the complexity of your event! If we have a large guest count and multiple locations you will have a larger team - but on average, Lucky Heart has 1-3 staff on site to do all the things!
