Onyx and Redwood is a Santa Barbara-based wedding planning and design studio creating bold, highly personalized celebrations for modern couples. Founded by planner Jessica Kuipers, the company is known for producing weddings that feel exciting, immersive, and completely reflective of the people at the center of them. Jessica built Onyx and Redwood for couples who want something more than a beautiful event. Her clients want a wedding that feels like them. Personal. Intentional. A little unexpected. Many of the couples she works with travel from around the world to celebrate in Santa Barbara and along California’s Central Coast, while others bring her along to destinations across the globe. At the core of the company is Jessica’s philosophy of Permission to Be Yourself. Weddings are not meant to follow a formula. They are an opportunity to celebrate your story in a way that feels honest and memorable. That might mean rewriting traditions, incorporating meaningful cultural elements, or surprising guests with unexpected experiences. Jessica approaches every celebration as a creative collaboration. She weaves together design, storytelling, and thoughtful details that reflect each couple’s personalities, lifestyle, and history. The result is a wedding that feels effortless, deeply personal, and impossible to replicate.

    $6,000

    Planning Services & Investment: Onyx and Redwood offers three levels of planning support, each designed to provide the right balance of guidance, design, and logistical management. Event Management begins at $6,000 and is ideal for couples who have completed most of their planning but want a professional to step in during the final stages to finalize timelines, confirm vendors, and manage the wedding day from setup through execution. Partial Planning + Design begins at $12,000 and includes everything in Event Management along with design collaboration and additional planning support throughout the process, helping develop the visual direction of the wedding and assisting with key vendor selections to ensure a cohesive celebration. Full Service Planning + Design is 12% of the overall wedding budget with a minimum investment of $18,000 and includes comprehensive planning from start to finish, including budget development, venue and vendor selection, design direction, logistics, and full event production. Staffing and travel are not included in the above pricing and are quoted separately based on the event location, guest count, and overall scope of production.
