Once upon a time, I thought I'd start a girl band and call it The Rocking Birds. That never really happened, so I started a flower company instead. Rocking Bird is based out of my home studio here in the heart of the District. We specialize in free-form natural arrangements, and weddings and special events are our jam. My Personal Narrative When I was younger, I dreamed of starting my own girl group and calling it The Rocking Birds. That never really happened, so in 2017, I decided to start a flower business instead of continuing my studies. Founded in my home studio in the heart of the District, Rocking Bird is a full-service design and production company. I specialize in free-form natural arrangements, and weddings and special events are some of my favorite things to work on. Only with the assistance of some seriously talented lady birds can my Team Rocking Bird be considered to be Rocking Bird. All of our designers have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the wedding industry, and many of them are also business owners. We all enjoy making Washington, D.C. a little more outlandish. We enjoy being a part of a heartwarming love story. As a boutique shop, Rocking Bird designs floral arrangements that are tailored to each individual environment and couple. We've worked on projects all over the District of Columbia, including edgy urban hotels, romantic wineries, and grand historic venues. Organic, wild, and textural describe our aesthetic. Using the bare minimum of harmful products, such as floral chemicals and flower foam, we strive to be as eco-friendly as possible when planning our weddings. In central Maryland, we collaborate with Hillen Homestead and Two Boots Farm, both of which are owned by women, to provide us with exquisite locally grown flowers and foliage that is produced using sustainable farming practices.
