Sugar Rex

Sugar Rex® is a custom dessert company based in the DC metro region that is small but formidable. It has specialized in hand-decorated sugar cookies for all occasions since 2015, but it is expanding to include a collaborative baking blog, online seasonal stores, cookie decorating classes, and small, creative workshops from its icing studio in Northern Virginia. At Sugar Rex, we love every day that we get to live out our cookie-loving fantasies – so much so that we named our firm after it. Martha Stewart Weddings, The Knot, Washingtonian, Washingtonian Weddings, and countless weddings, baby showers, and birthdays have all featured our cookies. Tiff was a former marketing and publicity lady who adored and worked in the book publishing industry until a cookie decorating book appeared on her desk by chance. She was immediately enamored with the allure and challenge of adorned sugar cookies and began baking them on the side for friends and family until it became clear that she was happiest when the baking began. Tiff credits the various hats she gets to wear as a small business owner for keeping her interested and infatuated with the business and art of baking after over five years of running a thriving cookie company. She aspires to inspire and equip the future generation of bakers, in addition to servicing a sweet-toothed clientele. She is a California immigrant who enjoys exploring Virginia's wooded landscape with her husband, Peter, but is always looking forward to their next beach vacation. She enjoys 80s films, a good playlist or podcast, and the nervous-excited feeling that comes with boarding a plane to a new destination. Oh, and she can't get enough of In-n-double-double, Out's fries, and chocolate shake.
