About Swanson Signature Events

Founded in 2016

Swanson Signature Events is a luxury event planning and design company that services clients in Georgia, South Carolina, and beyond. Anna started Rustic to Ritz Events in 2015 to be able to stay home with her small children. Driving to Savannah to work every day was not how she wanted to spend her weekdays, so she started her own wedding planning business. Her role as a mother was paramount in the priorities of her life, but she still wanted to serve couples doing what she loved, designing and planning weddings. The little business continued to grow as word got around that if you wanted someone to plan your wedding in Savannah, you needed Anna. By 2019, she had gotten so busy with weddings that she really needed some help. Renee left her job as a high school English teacher and theatre director to move to Georgia because she wanted to be close to her granddaughter. Renee really had not decided exactly what she wanted to do, but she knew that she wanted to serve people without going back to teaching full time. Renee and Anna were introduced by a mutual friend. They met for coffee, of course, and discovered that they had similar goals but different strengths. This could be an interesting partnership! Renee started working weddings with Anna, and they worked incredibly well together! January 1, 2020 was the first official day of the Anna and Renee partnership as co-owners of Rustic to Ritz Events. The pandemic started closing businesses and postponing events. Rustic to Ritz had nineteen weddings postponed from 2020 to 2021. Some couples changed their date two or three times. As Anna and Renee looked into 2021, they realized there was no way to serve the current couples and take on new business without getting more help. In the fall of 2020, Anna and Renee met Jennifer, Mika’l, and Rebecca in different ways, places, and situations, but each one seemed to be exactly who they were looking for. They rebranded as Swanson Signature Events and brought the three new team members on board! Cassidy joined as an assistant coordinator in 2021 completing the sextet. SSE quickly became the premier wedding planning team of the Coastal Empire. Although the reviews can speak for themselves, these ladies love what they do… and they do it with excellence, every time!

FAQs 11

Why do I need a wedding planner?
Planning a wedding is a ton of work, often between 200 – 250 hours! Wedding planners help bring the dream of your wedding to life, handling much of the legwork, keeping you on track and on budget. We handle every detail, so you can enjoy your engagement and wedding instead of stressing about it.
Will my planner work alone or with assistants on my wedding day?
Your planner will be the go-to point person on your wedding day, but will likely bring at least one assistant with them the day of your wedding, possibly two in order to ensure that your day unfolds flawlessly.
How much involvement will my planner have?
As much or as little as you want them to have! Your planner’s level of involvement depends on the event planning package you reserve and your personal preferences. We work with clients at both ends of the spectrum (and anywhere in between) personalizing our service to your needs.
My venue already has an in-house wedding coordinator. Why do I need a planner?
Most onsite venue coordinators are just too busy to devote the time and attention necessary to attend to the details of your wedding. The bottom line: A wedding coordinator at a venue and a wedding planner are two completely different jobs. The venue wedding coordinator is there to serve the venue.
Do you help me set up and break down my wedding?
Yes. We are the first to arrive and the last to leave on a wedding day. We will have you compile a list of all of your personal décor items that need to be put out and we will go over the list with you and designate a member of our team to oversee set up of those items.
