About the Chef Steven Ruiz, owner and chef of Taste That LA, has been cooking for as long as he can remember and was always in the kitchen with his grandma, whose effortless and experienced hands made the task seem simple. After receiving his Culinary Arts of Science degree at The Art Institute of California Santa Monica, Steven seized the opportunity to work for three times Michelin star and Master Chef Gordon Ramsay at The London Hotel in West Hollywood, California. From there Steven moved to the 5 Star and 5 Diamond category, The Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, to work with executive chef, Kaleo Adams. There they applied a culinary philosophy centered on sustainable cooking and sourcing the best produce from local farmers’ markets throughout the hotel’s entire dining operation. This included the world- renowned and legendary Polo Lounge, Cabana Café, The Fountain Coffee Room, Bar NINETEEN12, in-room dining and special events. Recently he returned to The London Hotel at Beverly Hills to work with Chef Anthony Keene and the Boxwood restaurant. As chef-owner of Taste That LA Catering, Steven's goal is to bring the love of casual cooking and the craftsmanship and dedication of a professional and award winning restaurant into the home kitchen for those who love great food and entertainment.
