The Butter End

We didn't begin by showing our work on Food Network's Ridiculous Cakes or putting our owner, Kimberly Bailey, on judging panels on some of FN's most incredible cake shows, such as Buddy vs. Duff 2 and Wedding Cake Championship! Nope. The Butter End got its start in a 200 square foot guest bungalow in Venice, California. Kimberly was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after arriving in LA from New York City. She didn't sit back and let the disease control her; instead, she channeled her creativity and zest for life into learning how to design and decorate cakes. It was a form of treatment that calmed both her and those around her. Her new enthusiasm didn't take long to fuel her happiness and take over her life! She immediately discovered that when you bake for folks you care about, they are less concerned about you and are happier. Every time someone asks her what she does now, she responds, "I make people happy." The Butter End first opened its doors in Los Angeles in 2010. The Butter End is still a tiny but formidable group of women that work together as a family to produce amazing and delectable cakes that are executed to an uncompromising standard. In the last ten years, The Butter End has established itself as one of the world's most known custom cake stores. We take just as much satisfaction in producing two-tier buttercream cakes for backyard weddings as we do special works of art for celebrities and Hollywood studios.
