"1796 House" - Inn at the Ridge

The 1796 House Inn at the Ridge is a pre-Victorian homestead built in 1796, set on 5 acres in the foothills of the Shawangunk Mountains just outside New Paltz, New York. The working farm property features barns, a natural lotus pond, and multiple gardens that together serve as a backdrop for small, intimate events — the inn accommodates up to 50 guests for weddings, yoga retreats, vow renewals, and private gatherings. The inn's private chef, a 1974 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, prepares farm-to-table meals drawing from the property's own vegetable garden. Four pet-friendly guest rooms are available for overnight stays, allowing wedding parties and family to remain on-site throughout the celebration. Dogs are welcome, including as participants in ceremonies.
