Greensboro Arboretum

The Greensboro Arboretum is a 17-acre public garden in Greensboro, North Carolina, developed through a partnership between Greensboro Beautiful, Inc. and the City of Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department. Construction began in 1986, and the garden opened to the public in 1991 as a living collection of plants for study, enjoyment, and community celebration. The grounds encompass 14 named plant collections — including rose, butterfly, shade, and ornamental grass gardens — along with a woodland trail and an overlook with panoramic views. An on-site education classroom building accommodates group gatherings, and the Tanger Family Wedding Gazebo provides a dedicated outdoor setting for weddings and private celebrations. Event space reservations are coordinated through the City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department. The arboretum is ADA accessible, open year-round at no charge, and welcomes leashed dogs in designated areas.
