James Charles Winery & Vineyard

James Charles Winery & Vineyard is a family-owned winery in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, near Winchester, set against views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Opened in 2015 by the Bogaty family — who first began growing grapes at their nearby Veramar Vineyard in the early 1990s — the winery is named for family patriarch James Charles and is led by winemaker Justin Bogaty, whose wines have earned more than 97 ratings of 85 points or higher from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The winery's event spaces are built around its vineyard setting. The barn-style Salon, with sweeping views of the valley and mountains beyond, hosts up to 50 guests for corporate meetings, rehearsal dinners, and private parties, while the sunlit Terrace Room accommodates up to 32 guests for birthdays, wedding showers, and small dinner affairs. A private Bridal Suite loft above the Salon gives wedding parties a dedicated space to prepare, complete with a lounge area and sliding barn doors that open for a reveal into the event space below. Beyond private events, James Charles Winery is a dog- and family-friendly stop in Virginia wine country, with regular live music, seasonal events, and tastings of its estate wines.
