The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley sits on 214 acres in Winchester, Virginia, making it the largest green space in the city and pairing a 50,000-square-foot museum building — designed by architect Michael Graves — with the historic Glen Burnie House and six acres of formal gardens. Glen Burnie House, built in 1794, was transformed into a refined home by Julian Wood Glass Jr. and R. Lee Taylor beginning in the 1950s before the museum itself opened in 2005 to share their collection with the public. For private events, the museum offers a range of indoor and outdoor spaces suited to gatherings of different sizes and styles. The beautifully renovated Glen Burnie House, with its formal Drawing Room, Library, and adjacent Terrace, suits an intimate dinner or cocktail reception, with access extended to the surrounding garden rooms. The Glen Burnie Gardens themselves offer settings from the Grand Allee to the more intimate Water Garden for ceremonies and receptions. Inside the museum, the wood-beamed Reception Hall and adjoining lobby and hallways can host larger cocktail-style events, while the Truist Learning Center and Carriage House Classroom provide smaller spaces for meetings, workshops, and luncheons. The museum is a site-only rental, so caterers, tents, and event equipment are arranged through outside vendors, including members of the Shenandoah Wedding Professionals group that the museum regularly partners with.

The barn dates back roughly 200 years and was brought back from years of storm and tornado damage through a 10-day restoration by Amish craftsmen, a project the family undertook so their own children could marry there. Today it hosts weddings, birthdays, baptisms, graduations, reunions, and company gatherings. The barn offers a 40-by-80-foot event space with an additional lower "bank" area that serves as a rain-alternative or extra gathering spot, and the property includes a pond and rock area often used for outdoor ceremonies. String and globe lighting are part of the barn rental, along with oak farm tables, a maple round table, and whiskey and wine barrels available at no charge for decor. Couples are free to bring their own caterer, DJ, cake decorator, planner, and other vendors, and acres of on-site field parking accommodate large gatherings. A bridal-changing cottage is available separately, and a two-station restroom trailer can be added for larger events.

Long Branch Historic House and Farm is a circa-1811 manor house set on 400 acres of Virginia countryside in Boyce, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Clarke County — about an hour and a half from Washington, D.C. and fifteen minutes from Berryville and Winchester. The nonprofit property doubles as a working horse retirement farm, and its gardens, lawns, and historic rooms are used for weddings, private parties, and community gatherings throughout the year. For ceremonies, couples can choose between the Sheila Macqueen Garden, which accommodates around 125 guests, or the more intimate Rose Garden, which holds about 25. Indoors, the mansion's East Gallery seats up to 75 for a smaller wedding or reception, with a 40-by-100-foot tent pad available on the grounds for larger seated events. A Bridal Suite with its own dressing room and bathroom, along with a Groom's "Tack Room," give wedding parties dedicated space to prepare before the ceremony. Long Branch hosts a limited number of weddings each year, capped at 150 guests, and gives couples flexibility to bring their own licensed caterers and vendors. The property also opens its mansion and grounds for private events, corporate meetings, and family gatherings, supported by a catering kitchen, ample parking, and views across the farm's pastures to the mountains beyond.

Long Branch is a town in the state of New Jersey. Boyce, Virginia's Long Branch Historic House and Farm is situated on 400 acres of land, approximately one hour and a half north of Washington, D.C. In order to benefit our local and regional communities, we want to preserve and use the assets of the Long Branch estate to the greatest extent possible. In addition to hosting community and private events, the circa 1811 historic house, horse retirement farm, and scenic open spaces allow us to promote education and environmental preservation. In addition, our picturesque Sheila McQueen Gardens are an ideal setting for weddings and other private events. Visit the house, have a picnic on our beautiful grounds, or hike or walk around our pristine property at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We welcome you to come and enjoy ourselves. Let us know when we can expect to see you. Weddings Long Branch, Virginia, is nestled against the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and offers some of the most spectacular views of the Shenandoah Valley. Due to the fact that it surrounds a beautifully groomed ceremony site, our Sheila Macqueen garden is an ideal setting for traditional Virginia weddings. The Main Gallery of the mansion can accommodate up to 75 guests for a more intimate Virginia wedding and reception venue when hosting smaller parties or during inclement weather conditions. Regardless of where you choose to get married, Long Branch has a Bridal Suite and a Groom's Room where you can prepare and relax before your big day. This beautiful, upstairs room with views of the ceremony site, as well as a luxurious dressing room and bathroom, is perfect for the bride and her bridal party to get ready, while the groom's "Tack Room" is the perfect place for the groom and his groomsmen to relax and enjoy pre-wedding preparations. History Long Branch has seen it all, including the Civil War, the Reconstruction era, the Great Depression, and two world wars, among other things. Long Branch is significant because of its connection to national, regional, and local historical narratives. It was designated as a Virginia Historic Landmark in 1968 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969, respectively. Robert Carter Burwell, a descendant of Robert "King" Carter, inherited the land in Clarke County, Virginia, in 1788. The land was located along a stream known as Long Branch and was inherited by Robert Carter Burwell. Burwell established a wheat plantation on the land he inherited, employing the labor of enslaved laborers to do the work. Around 1810, he began construction on a mansion on the site, which would be completed in about twenty years. Burwell, with the assistance of a local builder-architect, designed and built the house in accordance with the classical principles suggested to him by Benjamin Henry Latrobe, the architect of the United States Capitol, in a letter dated July 21, 1811, and published in the Journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. It was suggested by Latrobe that Burwell include a servant's staircase and that the dining room and chamber be located on the south side of the house. Burwell was unable to incorporate all of Latrobe's recommendations into the final design of Long Branch, but he did include the servant's staircase, which can still be seen today in the building. Burwell did not have much time to enjoy his new home because, while serving in the military during the War of 1812 in the filthy camps around Norfolk, Virginia, he became ill and died.

Della and Jim Bogaty purchased the property in the early 1990s and opened the vineyard to the public in 2000; their son Justin joined as chief winemaker in 2001 and has since guided the estate's wines to more than 97 ratings of 85 points or higher from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. The property's tasting room and event space occupy a historic 1948 farm building with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, opening onto a deck and terrace that overlook the vineyard and surrounding mountains. The setting suits intimate weddings for up to 75 guests, with rehearsal dinners for up to 35, as well as private celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, and bridal showers for 30 to 75 guests. Corporate groups also gather here for team-building retreats, client appreciation events, and business celebrations, paired with the estate's wines.
