Leadbetter Beach

Leadbetter Beach is a city-owned coastal venue in Santa Barbara, California, situated between Santa Barbara Harbor and Shoreline Park, directly across from Santa Barbara City College. Set along the Pacific shoreline, the beach combines open-air ocean views with a grassy lawn, outdoor showers, restrooms, and convenient paid parking in an adjacent lot — offering a relaxed natural setting for outdoor gatherings of all kinds. Three reservable outdoor areas serve events ranging from intimate ceremonies to group picnics. The Leadbetter Ceremony Area is a secluded, palm-lined grassy site overlooking the beach and Leadbetter Point, designed for wedding ceremonies of up to 60 guests. Leadbetter Beach Area West, situated just west of the Shoreline Cafe along the waterfront, accommodates up to 50 guests. The Leadbetter Beach Picnic Area, a beachfront group site at the west end of the parking lot, seats up to 65 guests and includes picnic tables and BBQ facilities. Reservations and permits are managed by the City of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department. Food trucks and trailers may be arranged in advance, and beer and wine are permitted with a reservation at the picnic area.
