McAlister-Leftwich House

McAlister-Leftwich House is a restored historic event venue in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina, comprising two nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century homes with over 150 years of combined local history. The McAlister House, built in 1915, exemplifies the architectural shift from Queen Anne to Colonial Revival design. The Leftwich House, constructed in 1875, is a Gothic Revival residence — one of only three remaining examples of that style in Greensboro — and holds National Landmark status. Together, the homes host weddings, engagement parties, vow renewals, corporate meetings, and private celebrations for up to 300 guests. Indoor spaces include The Gant, anchored by a bridal staircase in the original McAlister House; The Murphy and The Dixon, intimate rooms suited for cocktail hours and seated dinners; and The Hall, a connecting corridor with floor-to-ceiling windows and a checkered floor. Outdoors, The Lawn offers flexible open-air settings with the option to tent for weather contingencies. All rentals include exclusive access to both homes, tables, chairs, and two private getting-ready suites. The venue's team deliberately limits the number of events it hosts, prioritizing attentive preparation and on-site presence for each celebration.
