What are the requirements for serving alcohol?: Events serving alcohol require a $1 million Certificate of Liability Insurance naming the Port of Bellingham as additional insured, plus a $500 refundable damage deposit submitted no later than two weeks before the event. Some insurance carriers offer a single-day rider on a homeowner or rental policy, or event insurance can be purchased separately.
When is final payment and paperwork due?: Final payment (including the refundable damage deposit), a day-of-event form indicating open and close times, and a certificate of liability insurance (if serving alcohol or using a caterer not on the pre-qualified list) are all due no less than 10 business days before the event.
Are tables and chairs included in the rental?: Tables and chairs are included with the rental, for indoor use only. White folding chairs are also available for rent at Squalicum Boathouse.
When will the damage deposit be refunded?: Damage deposits are refunded 10-14 business days after the event, returned to the card used for payment or deposited into the specified bank account for checks.
