As residents of Splendora, we believed that our small, gorgeous East Texas town lacked a distinctive attraction that would suit the wedding and event needs of our local and adjacent communities. We established Splendora Wedding and Event Center in response to this need. The need for an event hall that can host weddings of all sizes in our area has long been recognized, and couples in our area no longer have to travel an hour (or more) to the nearest large city. Weston Gardens features a number of showcase gardens that date back to the 1930s and 1940s. In the beginning, Leon and Peggy Bandy created them as a personal estate for themselves. Before the invention of air conditioning, the whole layout of the gardens was planned with outdoor recreation in mind. Travel back in time to Fort Worth, which was said to be a place where "everyone who was anyone" used to hang out and dance on the rock ship or sunbathe by the stream. Weston Gardens is a contemporary take on the traditional English garden, and it's perfect for a couple. The gardens' convenient location in the middle of Fort Worth, near the intersection of 820 and Anglin, making it an ideal location for weddings and other events. Schneider Hall is nestled on Highway 71 South just a few miles outside of Columbus, Texas. It offers the perfect place to host any event. Schneider Hall is an original Texas Dancehall that operated throughout the 1930’s. It was run by the Schneider brothers; Fred, Jim, Willie, and Jake. They hosted regular dances at the hall and many town events including the 1939 Farmers League Rally Day which was reported to have had over 1000 people attend. The hall officially closed its doors in 1942, but still hosted events and parties throughout the 1950’s. The hall was used for hay storage until 2009 when the Burris family began renovations for their daughter’s wedding reception.
