The original gristmill on the property dates to 1836, making it one of the oldest in Georgia and a listing on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2015, the property opened its doors as a distinctive rustic backdrop for weddings and special events. The centerpiece event space is the Wallace Building, an all-wood structure with a log cabin aesthetic and a complete wrap-around porch that seats up to 90 guests for sit-down dinners or accommodates up to 120 in a theater arrangement. Built in 1926 by Colonel Sam Tate, the Second Renaissance Revival estate is constructed throughout with rare Etowah Pink Marble quarried nearby, earning it the nickname the Pink Palace.
